I really like this film Lady and the Tramp is a great romatic film I love the Spagetti scene so much, and I can't wait for it to come out on DVD again with better qualtiy and better sound.

The movie is overrated. Haven't seen the sequel, it must be better.

It's a great film, but I can't see it now without thinking of the movie "Last Days of Disco":

"There is something depressing about it and it's not really about dogs. Except for some superficial bow-wow stuff at the start, the dogs all represent human types which is where it gets into real trouble. Lady, the ostensible protagonist, is a fluffy blond cocker spaniel with absolutely nothing on the brain. She's great looking but, let's be honest, incredibly insipid. Tramp, the love interest is a smarmy braggart of the most obnoxious kind, an oily jail bird out for a piece of tail or whatever he can get.

No, he's a self confessed chicken thief; an all around sleaze ball. What's the function of a film of this kind? Essentially it's a primer about love and marriage directed at very young people, imprinting on their little psyches that smooth talking delinquents recently escaped from the local pound are a good match for nice girls in sheltered homes. When in ten years the icky human version of Tramp shows up around the house their hormones will be racing and no one will understand why. Films like this program women to adore jerks."

There's a bit more, some back and forth. Truly a great scene.

There's a bit more, some back and forth. Truly a great scene.

It's a love story plain and simple or perhaps a romantic comedy. In my opinion Lady is less aware about her looks and social status which makes her more naive about changes and the outside world. But yes there are many times when you just focus on her just being a dog. It is actually a story about Lady coming to terms with what the real world is all about.

I love Lady and the Tramp. Unfortunately, I have the pan and scan video and since I've come to realise pan and scan is an awful thing which exists thanks to this site, I'll nervously wonder what's missing. Anyway, I'm glad to see its coming on DVD in a platinum edition in March 2006 (hopefully), though and I'll be the first to buy it!

I looked for the Lady and the Tramp thread but couldn't find one. For those fans of Lady and the Tramp; Avon is now selling the Lady and the Tramp 50th Anniversary Edition ladies watch. The Canadian price is $24.99.

Great film. One of my favourites, although it must be about 6+ years since i last watched it so i can only remember brief things about it. I just remember watching it alot when i was younger and loved it.

Yay! One of my favorite movies. I have the video... so this is coming on DVD soon? Within the next couple of years? I will so be getting this one as well.

Lady is so adorable, but I love Jock and Trusty. I thought the sequel was decent. Anyone else like the sequel?

The 2-Disc Platinum Edition re-release dvd is coming March 7, 2006.

Currently 'Lady and the Tramp' is my favourite Disney animated classic. I would say it's my favourite romantic movie of all time too. It's a tiny bit strange that I kinda cringe at romantic movies and this one ends up as one of my favourites. (I love fantasy, magic, good vs. evil) but this movie has so much charm. I love it for many reasons already stated.

Sadly I haven't seen the sequel yet although there is a copy just downstairs I could watch. I've really been against seeing this sequel but I've heard it's one of the more enjoyable ones.

I would love to see Scamp's comic strip to be printed again in a nice collection.

Speaking of Scamp... my dad was born the year before this movie came out. I know 'Pinocchio' was the first movie he ever saw in theatres but he had a dog named Scamp growing up so I wonder if it was because of 'Lady and the Tramp'? I guess I may never know now.

Speaking of the PE release I really hope they do a CE.

This was my dad's personal favorite Disney movie. I even grew up with a dog that he had named Lady.

I saw it for the first time in its last theatrical release with my parents, and I think my dad was more excited than I was! And of course, I got the VHS for Christmas the next year from him, and we watched it twice in a row that day and many, many times after that.

Whenever Dad was in a bad mood, all I had to do was pop in this movie and he'd lighten up.

I don't think I can even attempt to look at it objectively as even though it's been a few years since I've seen it, I have it memorized.

I had a widescreen VHS of it, but I'm not sure what the heck happened to it.

I upgraded to the DVD back when I had the chance, but I haven't been able to make myself watch it since my dad passed away.

I'm sure that I'll be able to pull it out again one of these days, though. Maybe when the PE comes out it can take me back in time. . .

Is this film as good as films like lion king, little mermaid, beauty and the beast, since I've never seen it since I was like one. All I remember is the famous "spagetti" scene.

I don't know how people get the idea that Tramp is a jerk. Didn't he save all the other dogs from going to the pound? Didn't he rescue Lady from the other dogs chasing her? Didn't he get that muzzle off of Lady? Didn't he save the baby from that giant rat? All he did in the movie was charm her, since they were from totally different backgrounds. That's nothing different than Aladdin. So I don't get where they get Tramp being a delinquent from. He just lives a different way than all the pampered rich dogs (

), does that qualify him as a jerk? The worst thing is that he went from girl to girl, but in the end he was actually in love with Lady, not just easing his way into a one night stand.

I honestly can't help but laugh after reading what I just wrote.

But you get my point, right?

Better in my opinion but I doubt you'd think so.

Lady and the Tramp is good... I guess. I totally like the spagetti seen, it's price-less. I hated that one lady, the Aunt or what not. I thought she was a total jerk. I mean what kind of person hates dogs especially a dog like Lady... honestly, I just want to punch her in the face.

Wow it's a long time since I've watched this classic. Last time I saw it I really liked it. Even though it wasn't as watched as much Peter Pan or Toy Story when I was little, I still really liked this movie. I should watch it again sometime soon.

I love this one--one of my top ten favorites. Alan, it's quite different from the Fab Four. The Little Mermaid and maybe The Lion King are better than it, but not by much. You probably won't like it, though, too much like Bambi.

I've always adored Lady. She's so beautiful!

You can't compare Bambi with Lady And the Tramp. The two animated classics came out more than a decade apart. Lady And The Tramp has more action plus my favourite, the spaghetti scene. There are more songs than Bambi. In Bambi there's only animals and not much diaglogue. In Lady And The Tramp there's both humans and animals. Plus Lady is so adorable.

yeah, in fact, Bambi is the Disney film with less dialouge off all.
And the plot are very different also.

By the way, who remembres the very first time you saw this movie?

I saw it on a Italian food restaurant called "Papa & Bambinos" where every saturday they put the football soccer on a big projector screen(one of the red,blue and green big tubes) and the sundays they put animated films of Disney, japaneses or others.

Pretty good for the ocassion don´t you think?
