Sorry to be so controversial, but I didn't like any of the three Miyazaki films I have seen nearly as much as I love Disney animation and American/European animation in general. I did see Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky and Princess Monanoke. I laughed when I saw that it was released by Miramax. Evidentally they can't release PG-13 movies by the Disney logo, except Pirates of the Caribbean???

Disney is releasing the Ghibli films. They are not really Disney made or produced. Because of the relationship they get mentioned here, though not in any meaningful depth.

If you really want to get into deep discussion about them, you cannot beat Nausicaa.net:

Join the mailing list or look thru the archives, there is lots & lots of good stuff there.

You're welcome.

Oh... that's nice of you to say. It didn't seem like anyone else here didn't really like them, but I might be confused... that happens a lot. :D

So far the only Miyazakis I've seen are Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and (when I was too young to reember it) My Neighbor Tornto. My favorite is definitly Spirited Away, in my opinion one of the best movies of all time, truly life-affirming and uplifting.

In order

1. Castle in the Sky
2. My Neighbor Totoro
3. Kiki's Delivery Service
4. Princess Mononoke
5. Spirited Away
6. The Castle of Cagliostro
7. Porco Rosso

If we were to include other Studio Ghibli, non-Miyazaki films then I'd rank the following:

1.5. Grave of the Fireflies
3.5 Whisper of my Heart

I still have to see Nausicaa.
The very existence of Dumbo is a fairly persuasive argument against agnosticism.

My favorites:

1. My Neighbor Totoro
2. Laputa castle in the Sky
3. Kiki's Delivery Service
4. Spirited Away
5. Nausicaa
6. Princess Mononoke
7. Porco Rosso

The only other Ghibli films I've seen are Grave of the Fireflies and Whisper of the Heart of which 'Grave' has left an imprint that I will not soon forget.
