WORST Disney movie ever made...

Alan, did you only buy Bambi because it has a SLIPCOVER? Bambi is not boring. There are people that like Bambi and it's not boring like you say. The songs are nice. Bambi is about a fawn who loses his mother because of a hunter.

How can you even think that a forest fire is exciting when it was the hunter's carelessness that resulted in the forest fire? I assume you don't live in an area where there's a lot of trees. Out here we've had fire bans in the summer because of the threat of forest fires. Animals and fire fighters can get killed in a forest fire. This year there was a forest fire 10 times the size of Stanley Park.

A forest fire is not exciting but dangerous as the lives of wildlife and humans can get lost. Vegetation, plants and trees cam get destroyed and it takes years for a forest to recover.

I am affraid to say that I think that this is one of the things that I find sad about attitudes towards Disney; some of the younger fans don't seem to have seen or shockingly, if they have seen them, enjoy the older films. I was introduced to vintage Disney from an early age in bucket fulls thanks to video, and I think that this is one of the factors that made me like the old films more, as the old Disney classics were essentially my first movies. As a young adult, I can equally get satisfaction out of these films, an it kinda saddens me to see lots of people around my age pass off films like Pinocchio and Dumbo as boring. And as for Alice in Wonderland...it seems as though it's just me Kelvin and I who mention it a lot. If you find the classics like Bambi boring, Alan, I suggest that you would appreciate them more if you watched them in context as opposed to through modern eyes, as you may be able to get more satisfaction out of them.

I think he meant that it was exciting because the fire provided suspence for the story.

While Bambi is nowhere near my favorite Disney movie, I still think it is a masterpiece. You have to remember that back then, movies weren't like they are now. Back then, every sequence was exciting and breathtaking. And, if you liked the Lion King, many of that movie's factors are present in this one, except the script and comedy are up to date with people today. Bambi is a beautiful story of life and coming to accept responsibility. But, I respect Alan's opinion and if he doesn't like it, he doesn't have to. But please, don't just buy a movie just to have it or because the cover looks pretty. It's a waste of money if you aren't going to watch it.

I'm a 28 years old guy and I like Bambi. It has a good story and excellent music. I actually feel sorry for you kids being exposed to so much crap at a young age can't be healthy for you.

How old are you? It really sounds like you have a lot more growing up to do. When you get older I'm sure you'll opinions willc hange and see animation in a different way.

Lots of kids have girlfriend/boyfriends at 14 but 90% (just guessing) of the time the relationship fizzles very quickly.
I remember that age. Half the kids were thinking they were in 'deep' relationships while the rest watched their soap opera and laughed.

Personally I don't know any couples that got together before 17 that worked out.

I feel exactly the same way. If anything, I think it's important to realize that the more "exciting" likes of films such as Lion King owe their very existance to the earlier, groundbreaking films such as Bambi.

I grew up with an almost built-in appreciation for these films that came from both of my parents. Now granted, they were never as big into animation than I turned out to be, but they loved and appreciated the classics like Bambi. I mean, my parents would light up at the mere sight of "Disney" on the screen, and I grew up loving Disney long before 1989's The Little Mermaid, the year I turned 13.

I've come to appreciate something from just about all the DIsney classics now. As I said in another thread, the Aristocats is the only one that doesn't hold much interest for me, but I still find it fun to watch once in a while.

It's never too early or late to start suttin with a girl you like, and I think it's embarassing to find a girl after you're 17 or 18, your first kiss should've been something special that you would've done a long time ago.

If a girl likes/loves you in return, just go for it, don't wait 'til the water runs dry.

In the birthday thread, he said he was 15. Strange since I'm 15 and I have a complete opposite opinion of everything he's said so far.

Guys, as far as the age for having relationships, I've got people around where I live that have boyfriends and girlfriends before they turn 10. I think they get it from their older brothers and sisters.
