SB, PP, and F part of Platinum this time round?

Post by Prince Phillip »

I have noticed that a lot of people have been inquiring about whether or not this September’s release of Sleeping Beauty would be receiving the “Platinum” label. I can assure all of you that it probably will not. In fact I don’t think it, or Peter pan and Fantasia will receive the label at all this time round.

Disney announced they plan to release TWO Platinum titles a year through 2007. If they do follow this plan only 11 out 14 of the titles would be able to be released as Platinum. Many of you even said you couldn’t understand why they would be given the platinum treatment after they were given SE and CE treatment. Well I guess you have your answer. I think it is more probable that when they recirculate the platinum titles during their new 7 year cycle on HD-DVD, that they will all be given the Platinum title then, if this makes any sense. Anyway that’s my thinking anyway.

Also I liked the old us cover, but the new one is kinda growing on me. I guess you just kinda have to accept what u get.

I agree with you, and I frankly don't mind in the case of Sleeping Beauty. I'm not going to re-buy it just to get a silver banner when the material will remain largely the same in both releases.

However, since Pinnochio and Peter Pan have fairly limited extras, I won't mind buying them 2x.
