A Bug's Life: Collector's Edition (new) question

Post by Goofy Luv »

I was just at Disney's website & started comparing the specs on the original Bug's Life: CE & the new one coming out Tuesday. According to Disney's site, the (2) Isolated tracks & the Audio Commentary are not included. Can anyone definitely confirm/deny this?

Thanks,

GL

Not positive at this point. A bunch of sites list the Isolated Score and Sound FX tracks, but they might have just copied it over from the original 2-disc's record. DVD Empire's scans are of the previous CE.

So unless someplace reviews it, we won't know til Tuesday, most likely. And even then, Disney's notorious packaging could be wrong.

Yes, they will all be there (Disney's press release indicates so by listing all the specs, and in this case I do believe it.) ALL of the extras from the old DVD will be there, plus A Bug's Land games and Finding Nemo Fishy Facts.

Great news. It didn't make any sense to leave out the Audio Commentary & 2 Isolated tracks, so I'm glad they're all included :)

If there is no audio commentary, it is not worth being labeled a "Collector's Edition."

I wonder what kind of a game they made out of "a bug's land"?

Hi everybody,
This question has had me questioning if the DVD would be worth buying since I love commentaries and alternate audio tracks. Well I did pick up the new DVD set today and it does have the extra audio tracks, though they are not listed anywhere on the packaging.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like there's no reason to get the old CE release if you haven't then. Unless you're some kind of strange stickler for packaging and cover art and are willing to pay an additional $20 for that reason. :)

On the other hand, if you have the original CE (like me), there's just about no reason to get this new release in addition....unless, again, you're weird about packaging and art and prefer the new packaging/art and are willing to pay around $20 to get this new set too.

A game and a brief promo for Finding Nemo ain't worth re-buying for.

I have the new set and can confirm that the new features are hardly worth a mention, and none are worth a second purchase if you've already got the oldie. The Finding Nemo Fishy Facts -- which have very prominent mention on the packaging -- are maybe the length of a long TV spot for Finding Nemo, that's all. And the game, well, is a standard Disney set-top game; if you've gotten any of their other major DVDs (which everyone on this board has, I know), you know what it is and what it's like. Both of these new features can actulally bee found on Disney's web site. The game is at <www.abugslife.com> and the Fishy Facts are viewable at <www.findingnemo.com>.
