Animated Opening Scene Survivor - Round 1 - Closed!

Post by Disney-Fan »

Hello!

Welcome to the Animated Opening Scene SURVIVOR Round 1.

Please note if you do not have 50 posts, your vote will not be counted.

This is a contest in which we aim to find out what UD members think is the most dramatic, intense, epic or climatic opening to an animated feature film. Please remeber, we are voting for a specific scene, not the movie as a whole. Please vote accordingly.

Everyone is welcome! You do not need to have voted in previous rounds.

Rules are simple. 1 film will leave and not make it through to the next round, there are 3 days for voting with every round.

We are voting for the opeing sequence we like least!

We each have 1 vote! You vote for 1 film!

Please make your votes in bold if making a long post which mentions more than one film to avoid confusion.

Happy voting!

The nominated sequences are:

The Fox and the Hound - The mother's escape from the hunter
Oliver and Company - Alone on the streets
Aladdin - Arabian Nights
The Lion King - The Circle of Life
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - The Bells of Notre Dame
The Lion King II - He Lives in You
The Prince of Egypt - Deliver Us
The Iron Giant - A Giant lands on earth
Tarzan - Two Worlds
The Little Mermaid II - The kidnap of Melody
Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Opening prolouge
Lilo and Stitch - Stitch's Trial
Sinbad - Legend of the Seven Seas - At Sea
Finding Nemo - One Survivor
The Incredibles - A day with Mr. Incredible

It's no coincidence only a few older features made the list since intense openings seems to be a thing of the modern age. :) If I have forgotten a movie you see fit to be on the list, please point out the name of the movie and a short description of the opening sequence.

Happy votings!

Well, it was intense. Despite the fact that it was featured a sequel, I felt for Ariel when her baby was almost kidnapped!
Woops, forgot to vote! The Little Mermaid II- the kidnap of Melody

The kidnap of Melody

Alan, I can't believe you're voting off "Circle of Life" already! That's one of the best openings in cinematic history! (I can only think of one that's better: "The hills are alive...")

The Little Mermaid II - The Kidnap of Melody

The Circle of Life opening is one of the best. In my mind, it's second only to The Hunchback of Notre Dame's opening (one of the best and most powerful).

The Little Mermaid 2. Honestly, at least the original opening was beautiful, mystical, and astounding, the beginning of the second's just way too jumpstarted.
