New Forum Suggestion: Slipcovers!

Post by Wonderlicious »

We should set up a forum devoted to these beauties right away. If it's gonna harm bandwith, possibly delete the International DVD Forum as the only country really is the USA, of course! In here, we can have fun times discussing anything to do with slipcovers, such as these topics:

Slipcover discussions
Slipcover polls
Slipcover predictions
Slipcover rants
Who's going to buy a DVD with a slipcover?
The New Slipcover Thread
What Disney slipcover did you just see?
What non-Disney slipcover did you just see?
New DVDs such as Walt Disney Treasures: Slipcovers over DVDs

NOOOOOOOOO! Don't take away my International section! I love it! So calm, and not full of useless threads! :)

You forgot these Threads:

The UD slipcover awards ceremony
Most films you are willing to miss buying because it doesn't have a slipcover
Should slipcovers be compulsory for children in minibuses.
Which Disney slipcover did you just read?
Which Non Disney slipcover did you just read?
Will a Song of the South slipcover ever be released?
Will an unedited slipcover of Make Mine Music ever say the light of day?
Tarzan Slipcover (which stars Rosie O'Donnell) shocks the nation!
and of course Ichabod's patented Home on the Range slipcover appreciation thread.

Nice one Wondy!

What a brilliant idea! I don't think there is enough slipcover content here.

What about:

Aborted Slipcovers that never were: The Worth of Slipcovers?

Of course, that could start a riot :)

Andy, you'll only buy movies with slipcovers?

I think slipcovers are nice.. but honestly, don't really see the point or hype.. Protects the plastic case? Adds an extra dollar or two to the purchasing price? Keeps dust away? Ahh.. I have no preference, cover or not, if I like the movie, I'll buy it.

If the movie comes with one, and I have the choice, I'll get it with the slipcover, just to say I have it :-) Just to have it.

Is this thread a joke or something? Slipcovers are useless; who cares.

Isn't this the attitude that makes so many people outside the U.S. mock it?

This isn't a joke! We desperately need devotion to slipcovers. They are like gods to us true Disney fans. They protect our possessions from harm and they dazzle the imagination whilst opening like a book, staying true to their origins of being based on books!

But slipcovers scratch really easily even if you put it in your shelf. But all my movies in my DVD collection all have slipcovers. They look really ugly without em

For those of you who are dubious, Wondy speaks the truth!

Here is an ancient greek family tree showing how the ancient Greeks worshipped the Disney slipcovers as Gods, and showing the slipcovers relationships to one another.

Are you collecting all disney animated movies? If so, what are you going to do with those that don't have slipcovers?

You forgot a very important one:

Tips for making your very own slipcover for when either (a) you don't like the slipcover the DVD came with, or (b) in the tragic circumstance that it doesn't come with one, or (c) you just want to show off your artistic skills.

So what happens when you see a Disney movie in theaters or on TV, and you end up really loving it? Then you go to the store to buy it on DVD, and there's no slipcover? Are you going to avoid it just because of that? What'll happen, then, when Disney suddenly stops to issue slipcovers? Will you stop buying Disney DVD's, period?

Geez, I wish Disney had never started this stupid slipcover phase to begin with...

A slipcover is not necesary, I mean they are nice and pretty artistic and cool but they aren´t indispensable to enjoy your movie
