I haven't seen all those movies (the Camelot one I've never even heard of), but I did grow up on the ones I have seen: The Swan Princess, The Prince of Egypt, The King and I and Thumbelina all bring back fond memories for me.nedak wrote:Because very few people here recognize all of these heroines, and because of that the voting is a bit...unfair, let's say. They only vote the heroines they know-and like of course! But they don't seem to have many choices. For example, do you chaychay102royal know ALL these heroines? Have you seen ALL these movies? Maybe yes, maybe no-you tell me.chaychay102royal wrote:Why did you learn "never create a non-Disney poll in a Disney site"?
Kayley, Crysta and Chel are very strong and beautiful heroines according to my opinion. And they get a zero! This poll could only work in a site that is dedicated to all animated heroines, I think. Still, the voting in THIS poll never ends, so if you want to, you have plenty of time to watch all these movies and then vote. But I must say I humbly accept the failure of this poll!!![]()

One of the reasons why I lost a lot of respect for that movie is because I love history. That movie is entirely false, and what especially bothers me about it is that they had to rely on a fictional romance to keep the picture going. If I made a movie about Anastasia, I would make it about her childhood--about her innocent days with her sisters (Olga, Tatiana and Marie)and her brother (Alexei). It would also be about the true Rasputin: the one that actually died before the Romanovs, that persuaded Queen Alexandra that he was a prophet, the one that didn't have a talking bat.Fidget1234 wrote:I chose Anastasia. I like history. This one is very interesting too cuz no one really knows what happened to the princess anastasia!
The movie, however, would not end after their deaths (which would appear offscreen because of the violence and gore that took place). I would add to the movie the story of Anna Anderson who claimed to be Anastasia. Then I would end the film with the sad note that Anastasia was indeed killed with her family. Her remains were found a few years ago.
As I learned about the Romanovs from books, I would have to say I based the film on a book from the Dear America spinoff-The Royal Diaries. The book is called Anastasia: The Last, Grand Duchess.

No problem.Fidget1234 wrote:thanks chay.
I know that movie is just so not true. but based on the fact that she was real is pretty cool..
I'll have to check out that book. thanks!
Another children's book but it's nonfiction and has more pictures and factual information is Anastasia's Album. My elementary school library had it, I loved that book. I haven't read any adult biographies of Anastasia yet, but I did read a very good one about her mother. It's by Carolly Erickson, but I forgot the title of the book.
A book that has a chapter about the death of the Romanovs and another chapter about Rasputin's death is A Treasury of Royal Scandals. Neither of these deaths are painless and if you get nightmares very easily, these chapters aren't for you. The chapter on the Romanovs is especially freaky.

Crysta and Thumbelina were always my favorites. The only reason I like Thumbelina is because her personality goes through a lot of stages through the movie that you don't usually see with animated movies. But Crysta's the strongest heroine up there. She risked her life to save everything she knew. That's heroic.
I also tend to like Odette because she looked for something more than looks in her relationship. One of the first princesses to ever do that.
