I am absolutely loving all these reviews! Thanks for doing them Luke, Aaron and anyone else who commit their time to writing these gems of work! I love the TV show season set ones the most, like Home Improvement, Lizzie McGuire, The Golden Girls, Gargoyles, Boy Meets World, etc. Though, not to sound hard done by with getting all of these top-notch reviews, but is a review of Moonlighting-Seasons One and Two coming soon? Its just I'm awaiting a review with pictures, not like the ones at TV Shows on DVD where its just one page with no pictures and barely no substance! (no offense TV Shows on DVD!)
Also, one of my best friends, Aaron (not the one on this Forum!), is wondering how you make your money, if you have another job, and if someone pays you money for operating this site. Since I didn't know the answer, I said 'I'll ask him' and here I am asking you! Can you answer it?

Two new reviews are up:

Luke brings us the first of four "Bear in the Big Blue House" reviews to come, Visiting the Doctor with Bear, and of course does a great job with it.

Touching on Touchstone, I've also reviewed the upcoming 15th Anniversary Special Edition of Father of the Bride.

Well this "Aaron" sounds inqusitive!

No one pays me money to operate the site. UD is primarily funded in four ways:
1) affiliateships (such as Amazon, Disney Movie Club, etc.),
2) ads,
3) reader donations through <a href="http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/pay/T2 ... PS">Amazon Honor System</a>,
and 4) my own tiny little pocket.

#3 can more or less be eliminated since only two people have donated to the site this year for a total of $23 (which is about $20 after Amazon takes their share) and as I obviously don't want to beg people to contribute, the link to do so goes ignored.

As such, you can see the importance of #'s 1 and 2. People using UD's links to buy anything from Amazon, sign up for the DMC or download a song on iTunes supports the site. The entire list of UD's affiliateships can be found <a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/support.html">here</a>. So does people clicking the Google ads above and now the AdBrite ads below. Very few actually do, even though this method of support requires no money being spent, only a few seconds and a genuine interest. #4 comes into play at the end of each month, when the site once again exceeds bandwidth limitations and I've got to cover the damage. It's been a very long time since I didn't have an accumulating bill for going over our allotment each month.

It's all kind of a losing battle, since I know that pop-up/over/under ads may pay more and get clicked more, but they intrude on the experience. I want UD to be as user-friendly as possible, so I stick to a non-intrusive "Support the Site" page and ads that mostly get ignored. With all the work that goes into keeping the site running, it's a job that makes less than minimum wage. Which is why it's nice for people who say they enjoy the site to support it by buying DVDs through UD's Amazon links, clicking an ad that interests them, or even making a donation. Thanks to the few who do.

In any event, this line of questioning and my long-winded response are off-topic here. They really belong in feedback if anything. As Aaron said, two new reviews were posted in the late night / early morning hours. I don't think too much of mine, but Aaron's was right on about Father of the Bride and its special 14th anniversary edition.

Thanks for answering Luke! And now I know how much time and commitment it takes to run such a fantastic site! I'll make sure to click on the ads more often and I applaud you on creating this site with the little money that you get.

Also, I make sure to read every review that goes up and I appreciate all the time and effort that goes into them. Thank you! And great review of the DVD Father of the Bride -15th (or should I say 14th?!

I have a question! Do you know if I can buy from Amazon.com using my registration name from the UK site? If so, I would contribute a whole lot more by buying from Amazon.com!

You should be able to, as I think the information gets carried over if you simply sign in with the address. You might have to set up some things the first time, but I think it's fairly painless. We also have an Amazon.co.uk affiliateship, which is linked with the others from the Support the Site page. The Shop also links to 188 UK Disney DVDs, which are the more supportive direct links.

Oh, and I missed James' "Moonlighting" question before. I saw it, but forgot to reply. Lions Gate didn't send Aaron or me a screener probably because we never asked. Actually I'm a little bit foggy about Disney's involvement with the series. It sounds like BV simply acquired distribution rights sometime in the recent past and then they planned their own DVD release, but dished off to Lions Gate. So perhaps the show doesn't even belong on the Disney TV Shows page. I'm not sure. But don't expect a review anytime soon, I'm afraid.

That's all right for missing it, and I'm not too upset about not having a review of it because I knew barely anything about it!

That 'Tokyo Pig' review won me over. I'm always looking for entertaining and odd things to watch and that sounds like it'll be well worth a rental.
After reading it I have a few complaints like the lack of extras, no Japanese track (which would be nice since it would make it seem that more 'odd' in it's original language).

As soon as I can I'll check the local video stores for it. Good job with the review.

Also, in case you've somehow missed the home page, the script at the top of this forum, this thread's first page, and a recent newsletter, there are some new reviews here at UD!

For example, my review of Sling Blade just went up. Or you can check out the rare treat of a screening review that Luke has provided for Howl's Moving Castle. Still hungry for anime, but something you can buy sooner than later? That's where Luke's review of The Best of Tokyo Pig comes in!

And if you've REALLY been slacking off, Father of the Bride and two Bear in the Big Blue House discs have been reviewed pretty durn recently too!

Oh, and thanks to everyone who complimented the Father of the Bride review that I haven't replied to yet.

Yep, I've read every single one of the reviews, and congrats is deserved of you and Luke.

Great reviewing, and guess what! I now have a love of anime! You guys reviewing the Studio Ghilbi films, the Tokyo Pig release, the new Hayao Miyazaki film, and me learning Japanese at school, has made me an anime fan!

Anyway, wonderful reviews guys and I look forward to the next ones!

Every single one? Wow...I've only read a few of them, but I really enjoy reading them. I just spend so much time on the forum that I often never get around to reading all the reviews that I want to read.

Well I think that I've read all of them, but if I haven't read some of them then it's only a small percentage. And great review of The Pacifier, Luke! But why are the images flatter than they usually are?
