Locking Threads

Post by chaychay102royal »

Luke,
What are the qualifications (spelling...)for you to shut down a thread?

When no good can come from a thread, it gets locked. If it's a duplicate, it may get merged. If it's inane but mostly harmless, then it will die on its own. If an original poster requests their thread locked, usually, that will be enough to do it too.

I remember that. "The Bandwidth-Wasting/Luke-Please-Close Thread" comes to mind.

Any chance we can unlock it and have some fun? J/K.

Indeed... and any of the mods can do it, too. :D

In fact, this is what the 'unlock' icon doohicky looks like... Image

Obviously asking a question about a slipcover will turn the trick.

I did not know that deathie mouse can lock threads. I think Indiana, Paka and Pinretna can lock threads too. Sorry, I forgot their usernames.

I'm suprised that the moderators haven't locked a certain R-rated thread that MickeyMouseboy and I chatted in. :? I'll be happy to send a private message with the URL to a moderator.

No, I'm not posting the subject or the URL. lol Maybe I can talk about the Lion King slipcovers in that thread. j/k

Yup they can (and it's pinkrenata!) because according to MickeyMousePal, they're monitors! ;)

chaychay102royal: Feel free to look at the locked threads - a moderator usually posts a reason as to why they locked the thread. Their posts are at the end of the thread.
Luke wrote:If it's inane but mostly harmless, then it will die on its own. If an original poster requests their thread locked, usually, that will be enough to do it too.
I thought Luke said insane instead of inane. lol. I had to look up the word inane to see what Luke meant. I also misread MickeyMousePal as MickyMouseBoy. If MickyMouseBoy is a monitor, he can just lock his own thread. ;)

The thread MickyMouseBoy and I participated in was not harmless. lol! Err, there is a double negative in that sentence.

I wanted to say something else, but Luke and Paka and RJKD23 already answered my question.

Bye

What I was thinking of was the eye retina. Sorry I mispelled your nickname pinkrenata. Pink renata sounds like a rose.
