Don't see Emperor's New Groove getting re-released and even if it did, what would they add? You'd be lucky to get it for $16.99 still. A repromotion or repricing is more likely, and even then $16.99 is still a deal.Merman wrote:I know theres a thread to this but I had a question in which no one could of seen it if I had put it there. Should I buy the emperor's new groove from Best Buy, it's $16.99 but Im hesitating because Disney has the tendency of re-releasing Dvd's. Do you guys think that The Emperor's New Groove will be getting a 2 disc re-release or should I go ahead and buy it?

I bought the Alice in Wonderland ME and I love it. I really like the One Hour in Wonderland. There's this part with Pluto and the bone and the hall of mirrors. I couldn't stop laughing of how he changed into a big dog, little dog, long dog in the hall of mirrors.DisneyFan 2000 wrote:You should still buy it imo. It was on Family Channel so nothing was edited out that I know of.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I think this needs stickying. Many people start new posts saying "should I buy [insert title]?" or something like that, so it would be handy just to have one topic for this.Plus, I need some advice on buying a Disney DVD!
Recently, I've noticed that a British online retailer has a number of Disney movies going cheap, some of which I would like to own. However, due to funds at the moment, I can only buy one. Which do you think I should get? The options are...

- *The Hunchback of Notre Dame: would be patient for inevitable Special Edition, but I'm curious if I should dip for this while it's fairly low for now.
*Oliver and Company: I don't have this on any format, haven't seen this all the way through in years and not 100% sure if I'll like it again.
*Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Heard good things about DVD and like the movie, yet I feel guilty about backing Pooh franchise.

Winnie the Pooh. I have it on VHS and I don't want to part with it as it's the Commemorative Edition of the original.

I got it too! I think it's great! The digital transfer is superb and I love the bonus features so far! Especially the new "I'm Odd" song!Nala wrote: I bought the Alice in Wonderland ME and I love it. Should I buy Mulan?
I have never seen Mulan before but trust most reviews/opinions that it's a good movie. I'm not entirely strapped for cash, but I can't be wasting it either (I've got a move and a trip coming up). I saw Mulan at Target today and one had a perfect slipcover on it (they had about 6 total but only one had a slipcover).
I can't recollect but I think it was released a while ago and I've never seen a recent one with a slipcover. It's priced at $19.99.
Do I buy or not?? Remember- I've never seen it but am looking to have an eventually complete collection (or semi-complete). Should I wait it out and buy it later on with a possible lesser price or grab the one with the slipcover. (I know about the option to call Disney but I'm almost sure I'd never get around to doing it and if I did I have a bunch I'd want already).
Tell me what you think!!
Edited to add:
I just read the Bambi thread argument/"discussion" about the importance of slipcovers. I want to add that this question is not for people who are bitter about why others want slipcovers. I think it's a cool thing to have but am lazy enough to not go entirely out of the way to call up and beg for them. I just like them. Period.
Just wondering if those who are fans of slipcovers would pay full price for a dvd that you've never seen?

I say go snag the sucker while you can. $19.99 is an excellent price, the DVD is very solid, it's the only one left with a slipcover, and the film itself is quite good. If you're looking for at least a semi-complete collection, then one of your goals should be to collect all of Disney's 2-disc sets (since those will cover the most major films). For more info on both the film and DVD, check out Luke's review: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/mulan.html

Yes, what Disneykid said..."Snag the sucker while you can."
$19.99 is a good price for the DVD and its bonus features!
With slipcover or not, the movie is a great own!
Read the review, too!
For a blind buy, Mulan won't be a waste in my opinion!
And to answer your other question...

Depends on how great the movie is/was and its review.Just wondering if those who are fans of slipcovers would pay full price for a dvd that you've never seen?
