Hercules, Hunchback, Tarzan: 2-Discs? Any chance?
How likely is it for Tarzan to get another 2-Disc edition, and Hunchback and Hercules to get a 2-Disc?
Should I buy them now, If I dont will I miss out, or will I have to double-dip soon? Help!

I'm just kidding! Take that as a joke, SK!
Uhm, the anniversaries of HUNCHBACK and HERCULES are approaching so they might release them as 2-Disc!
As for Tarzan, its 2-Disc CE is OOP with no mention of a re-release.
I believe patience is rewarding (oh dear, how many times have I uttered this!) so I would *suggest* waiting on the movies. But (for us), I simply loved Herc and had to buy the single disc!

I know that why I said "another 2-Disc Edition"Mr. Toad wrote:Tarzan already got one.

If you want my honest opinion, paying $45-$50 is ridiculous.SofaKing381222 wrote:I'll probably wait on Herc and Hunchback, but should I spend tons of money on a Tarzan 2-disc?
However, I think the movie is good and the DVD is nice to own. It's up to you SK if you wanna spend money on it. We don't control your wallet!

Tarzan probably will get a re-release soon. Region 2 countries like England and France got one recently, so I can´t see the US having to wait much longer; we in England got Pocahontas two months before the US 10th Anniversary Edition, so I think that Disney USA is going to shove a Tarzan re-release very soon...
I would guess they would. It looks to me like they're going back and giving all of them 2-Disc sets so it seems pretty likely. I have to admit that Hercules is a guilty pleasure and I wouldn't mind one.
And looking at the quality difference between the new 2-Disc sets and the original Gold Collection of some of these...the quality is so much better I would hope they do it for all of them.

I totally agree, Wonderlicious. Why would Disney re-release Tarzan everywhere else in the world except in the US? With the England getting this DVD this summer, the US release shouldn't be far off. Even though it has not been confirmed yet, I would hold off at least for awhile longer. Plus it is really expensive.Wonderlicious wrote:Tarzan probably will get a re-release soon. As for Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I have no doubt these two will get a new release within the next two years. These two movies are the only 90s animated films (beside The Rescuers Down Under) that haven't recieved some sort of 2-Disc treatment. And these movies were one of Disney's best and they haven't forgotten it. They wouldn't just single them out and allow movie fans to settle for crappy editions. And also Disney is beginning to use the new "Anniversiary" Series more often. I thought it was only going to be used for Mary Poppins but Pocahontas and Toy Story have followed. I'm sure that with their 10th Anniversaries coming up soon, Disney will definetly sieze the oppurtunity. Unless you cannot wait, get these two movies for cheap just to hold you over. Otherwise, wait for the better release!

No, which does not make it a bad movie. But it cant compare to Beauty and teh Beast. Somewhere around average in the Disney canon. Certainly worth a watch though/Alan wrote:IS Tarzan a good movie compared to beauty and the beast?

Well, this is an interesting topic. I don't think Disney would have TWO two-disc editions of a movie for a long time, especially considering that many of their films have not gotten this treatment yet (The Aristocats, Peter Pan, The Rescuers) . So my thoughts say "no" to your Tarzan idea for a while.
I don't know about the other two. When were they last released?

Maybe all three can be 10th Anniversary Editions
Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame have a great chance. But Hunchback has a greater chance since it didn't get a Gold Collection treatment.
I agree that Tarzan should get an extra 2 Disc.
Tarzan maybe in 2009.

You right Disney wouldn't have Two 2-Disc Editions of the same movie. BUT what we are hoping for is a re-release. This would basically have all the same features that the original Collector's Edition DVD had plus maybe some Tarzan II stuff with possisbly a different cover and new disc art (Similar to A Bug's Life re-release with promotional clips from Finding Nemo). This is what is being released to countries in Europe right now. That's where our "idea" came from.chaychay102royal wrote:Well, this is an interesting topic.
