Contacting eBay won't change anything. They'll answer you that there are rules and that they're not responsible for what we sell you and not responsible for your relations and pbs with the seller.orestes. wrote:My friend is contacting eBay.
Yup it's great I'm back. I hope to be around more now constantly although not post as much.
I have never bought anything from eBay myself but from what I have seen I don't think I'll start anytime soon.
Chandler (to Phoebe, over the phone) : Listen, Joey isn't gonna be here tonight so why don't you come over and I'll let you uh.. feel my bicep; or maybe more...

I would bet that almost all of them are probably fakes/bootlegs.. Especially because every single one of those titles you mentioned are Single Layer discs wich are the easiest to coppy with out compressing... so you wont notice any loss of quality but you will notice if they skip, and if they skip or jump or whatever then that just gives it away.. well that is if there is no scratches on the bottom of the disc....
Sometimes reporting someone on e bay does good but most of the time it doesnt. I tried reporting someone that has about 15 bootleg coppies of Cry-Baby with Johnny Depp... first of all I know my DVD's and that movie has never been released on dvd... anywhere in the world. So I reported them about 3 times and e-bay will not do a damn thing.. this person still sells them with out any problems...

Actually, while I submit to your knowledge on illicit disc replication, though very light on extras and clearly not exlempary of the finest video DVD can offer, most of the Limited Issue Disney DVDs are actually dual-layered discs.DaeLex wrote:I would bet that almost all of them are probably fakes/bootlegs.. The problem with reporting things to eBay is unless the copyright holder makes a fuss, they won't likely do anything. It's too much work for them to research potentially bootleg auctions and they get money either way, so why bother?

This thread has got me thinking; just why is everybody so obsessed with getting these limited issue discs? Apart from Mermaid (who's platinum could be a <stroke>completely redrawn version run through CAPS</stroke>, I mean, a lovely digitally restored version
), I don't see any need for owning them. Reasons? All of the films made in academy ratio remain in that way on video, and due to no extras, the LI DVDs are practically overpriced videos. Hercules can be found in the identical Gold Collection repackaging easily, Mulan got a special edition DVD, and Lady and the Tramp was released on widescreen video, with, from what I believe, a supplement not found on the DVD, and I'm sure one could find it on EBay for next to nothing. Not to mention the fact that the platinums are coming out for over half these films in the next three or four years. I know DVD is better than video, but can't you just endure the videos as possible for longer than being ripped off.[/list]

I was talking about the ones orestes listed. And I know most of them are single layer because everytime I buy a dvd a put it in my dvd drive and check for myself. Just because a dvd website says its dual layered doesnt mean it is.Luke wrote:Actually, while I submit to your knowledge on illicit disc replication, though very light on extras and clearly not exlempary of the finest video DVD can offer, most of the Limited Issue Disney DVDs are actually dual-layered discs.
edit: I just checked the little mermaid. it is Dual Layer but... it might as well have been put on a single layer because its just a lil over 5 gigs.. I will check the rest but I know for sure 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the tramp are single layered cuz I just checked those...
Just a little update...
Well the seller is now really apologizing and does not know how two bootleg DVDs got shipped out and they now want us to return them so they can send us a refund and take away all the negative feedback.
I don't think so.
I wonder what scared them? The nasty replies I gave them or the fact we reported their illegal activity.
Anyways their negative feedback is staying and they can leave theirs. They just want to sweep this under the rug so they could sell more illegal copies well I won't go along with that.
Plus I'm not sending the bootlegs back to them unless they send the refund first. Yeah like I'm going to trust them now.
To Wonderlicious:
I'm not really obsessed with the Limited Editions but I couldn't help get Lady and the Tramp. I know the PE is coming out but quite rapidly it's becoming my favourite Disney classic and I just had to have it.

I wasn't aiming my post exactly at you, orestes. It's mainly towards others whom I believe Krystal will know about...orestes. wrote: To Wonderlicious:

Oh hooo hooo! I, along with those who enter chat, know what Wonder is talking about!Wonderlicious wrote:I wasn't aiming my post exactly at you, orestes. It's mainly towards others whom I believe Krystal will know about...

I really wish those PE's get released as promised without changes!

I can't even wait for Cinderella!
Then again, when Cinderella gets released, it's just a reminder that I'll be turning a year older. >_<
