Is Belle's Magical World any good?

Post by Mermaid Kelly »

Is Belle's Magical World a good movie/dvd? I had the platinium Beauty and the Beast for a long time, and a few days ago, after scoping out many stores, I found Belle's Christmas. Since Belle's Magical World is available at many stores right now, I just wondered if it is worth buying.

well it depends. if you are a die hard b&b fan and want to collect all things related then yes. if you are somewhat obsessive about collecting entire sets (like me), then yes because it completes the b&b set. the special features on it are not fantastic by any means, but then what would you expect. i was actually suprised to find a making ofon the enchanted christmas dvd. in short if you are looking for quality film then no, if you want to complete your dvd set and can shell out an extra $20 then i say go for it but beware...it's not high quality animation or storytelling.

I borrowed this from my friend and felt it was, for the most part, utter crap. The morals of the stories are forced and shoved down our throats, the songs stunk, and the animation was nothing good.

In the end, if you want a free plastic Belle mirror, buy the DVD. If not, save your money for a more worthy title.

I would have to agree with DisneyFella. If you really like Beauty and the Beast and want the complete "Trilogy" for your collection then go ahead. If BATB is not something you are really into or you are kinda picky about what DVDs you get for your collection or dont' have a lot of money to spend, then don't get it. On a side note, Magical World is considered in the vault so it will be hard to get in a few years

I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Even if you're a die hard B&TB fan the cheapquels are such a waste of $$$. Hopefully they will lose it in the vault so as not to scar future generations of unsuspecting kids.

Lizard Dude! you're back! I was thinking where you went of too! i'm glad to see you're doing alright! :)

and about Belle's Magical World......... I bought it to complete my B&B box set and to tell you the truth is not the bad is actually kinda cute. If you view it as saturday morning cartoon and not try to fit it into the original movie you can learn to like it! i got a compact mirror with it! yay!

The main thing wrong with Belle's Magical World (apart from the 'animation') is that, basically the world is far from Magical. "Belle's Crappy World" would be a more accurate description.

She argues with the Beast so much, it's a miracle that they can stand to be in the same room together, let alone that they marry each other at the end of the original film.

She also has to sort out everybody else's problems and misunderstandings (and sadly, unlike a good sit-com, the misunderstandings don't result in hilarious concequences, just dull depressing pointless concequences).

If this is what life was like in the castle, I'm surprised she didn't just run off and let the wolves get her. At least then her pain would be short.

Even the new songs are.... er, actually I can't remember anything about the two new songs they're so forgetful. Still, I suppose that means that they don't suck eggs. I would remember that.

But, hey, you get a mirror!

And, I like The Enchanted Christmas! But Magical World is just painful to watch.

Actually, Chip says "going to live happily ever after..." but no one actually says they get married (why would Belle marry in a dress she's wore like two nights before?). So, that leaves an open end for: (drumroll please)

If they don't release "The Wedding", I think we can all assume that Belle and Beast live together without being married, have pre-marital relations, and Belle commits bestiality . . . technically.

A little off subject but...Is there any difference between BatB Enchanted Christmas old version and the Special Edition from last year - besides the cover obviously... and does anyone remember when that came out & was discontinued?

The original DVD had no extras, aside from a short reel previewing other titles from Disney. The new Special Edition DVD has:

- Click the Mouse Behind the Scenes Featurette (22 mins)
- "As Long As There's Christmas" Music video
- Forte's Challange Interactive Game
- Enchanted Environments
- Sing Along Track
- Sneak Peeks at other titles

As for when the original DVD was discontinued, I tried to find out, but I couldn't uncover anything. Maybe someone else knows.

Thanks, Jack. Another DVD to add to my obsessive wish list..lol. Do you have a resource that you check for release/discontinued dates or did you just do an internet search? Perhaps everyone who has any of the info can get together with Luke and the release / discontinued date could be added to the 'Master Lists' Luke has...I know I would be interested in that...

Please explain to me...

This film has been put together from three shorter episodes, right?

Are these from some tv-series, so that there are more episodes like them, or were they the only ones made?

Fashion faux pas!
I do believe though they WOULD have been married before dancing. In those days, dancing out of wedlock was a big no-no.

Just to add, I recently bought this as a twin-pack from the UK with the original & this sequel (wouldn't have picked it up otherwise), and I couldn't watch beyond the first 20 minutes. Maybe I will one day.

Maybe I'll stick a hot poker in my eye too....

A blemish on the good name of "Disney sequel"!

Beauty and the Beast: The Wedding
They must be married - Belle is a "Disney Princess"[/quote]

Yeah, but the only princess who actually get married are Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, and Jasmine. We just have to assume the rest did.

But I'm not assuming Belle married Adam at the end of the first (even though they did seem married in Enchanted X'mas) so that I can still hope for

But we don't know his surname.

Based on the logic of the transformed servents (their names match what they were transformed into) Prince Adams surname must have been Bearwolfbison.

So there we go.

Prince Adam Bearwolfbison.

Well, Gus... "alright" is relative. I've moved out-of-state (what a major hassle), but I do like my job SO MUCH BETTER than where I was before. Unfortunately, my new job keeps me twice as busy, so I don't have a lot of time to scour the forum like I used to.

I appreciate the sentiment from you that I was missed. Thank you. :)
