Aladdin 2-disc Special Edition at Sainsburys

Post by thegoldengirlsbiz »

I was doing the weekly shop in Sainsbury's tonight when I noticed a few Disney DVD's on offer. One of them was the Aladdin 2-Disc Special Edition for just £9-99. I haven't seen it in other stores or online for that price or less :)

They've also got a ton of Disney PC CD-Rom Games including Monsters Inc for £4-99.

Thanks for sharing! I bought Aladdin the week it was released for the slightly higher price of £14.99 at Sainsbury's, which was a bit cheaper than the other places I saw it in (HMV, Blockbuster). Do you know what other Disney DVDs were low in price? You said that Aladdin was one, but what were the others?

I saw a Winnie The Pooh DVD for £9-99. On the shelves each row was about 8-10 DVD's deep which made it difficult to see each title accurately, but I could make out the Disney logos on the spines.

I have looked at the Sainsburys Entertainment website - http://www.sainsburysentertainyou.co.uk - but they don't seem to list many Disney titles. I suppose it really just depends on the Sainsbury's near you aswell :)

Sainsbury's have had some good little deals on. Sometimes they are at the back of the shelves so you have to have plenty of time to rummage through them all.

Last year I bought Monsters Inc [not the 2 disc edition] for just £7-99 @ Sainsburys. I thought they must have had the wrong price sticker on. I was so pleased to find that it wasn't wrong at all, when the lady put it through the scanner. Just a few weeks beforehand I bought the exact same version from WHSmiths and it cost £17.99 :o I had to return it since there was an audio problem, so I was delighted to find it £10 cheaper at Sainsburys :)

Sainsbury's have Aladdin 2-disc special edition on for £7-99 at the moment. They also have some other Disney titles for £7-99, including The Princess Diaries 2 and Freaky Friday.

That's funny, I literally got back from Sainsbury's 5 minutes ago, and ALL of their Disney DVDs were £14.99 Aladdin, Princess Diaries 2 etc included. It must only be certain stores.

Yep they sure did have alot of disney dvds for £9.99, they were this price while the "Buy 2 save £10" promotion was going on. Then they took the dvds off the shelves and left afew but bumped them back up to full price. But yeh Aladdin is still pretty cheap and you'll most likely find it on one of the dvd stands they have around the store...

I know prices seem to differ from region to region but last night I was in my local Sainsbury's and saw the following...

Mary Poppins 40th Anniversary Edition - £9.99
Finding Nemo - £8.99
A Bugs Life - £5.99
Monsters Inc [1 disc] - £8.99
Alice In Wonderland Special Edition - £9.99
Aladdin [2-disc] - £7.99
Dumbo - can't remember price

There was a whole display dedicated to Disney DVD's so I can't remember all of the titles but they were very reasonably priced.

Howdy!

Sainsbury's?

Yeah, I remember going to that store on my last two England trips! These are the titles I remember seeing on the shelves:

The Lion King 2 :(
Freaky Friday :P
The Haunted Mansion
DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp :D

Two of these titles (TLK2 and DT) haven't been released in Region 1 yet when I went! Those are all summer 2004 titles; I forgot what the summer 2003 titles were, if anybody remembers, please let me know! I might remember seeing Treasure Planet or The Jungle Book 2 or maybe even Atlantis 2, but still, let me know.
