sooo..you're saying in order to be "true fans of Walt Disney", you have to have the complete 44 Animated Classics on DVD?

Well, then I'll wait till I have a career to be a true fan of Walt then.
I'd rather buy wallets. :p
It's in our MickeyMouse DNA.... LOL
Well anyways I only need 1 by the end of the month. I'll be taking a picture when I get Cinderella.

No You not stupid.
If you are stupid you don't have any Disney DVDs as you got the videos. :D
Videos aren't good as they break.
DISNEY VIDEO SUCK!!! :x
That's why you bought Gold Collection DVD as they better.
Gold Collection aren't as good as Platinum Editions as they don't has as much good extras.
Extras are fun as you can look behind the scenes.
Some Disney DVDs have games which are fun to play like the Virtual Wonderland Tea Party. :D
The Gold Collection DVDs have lots of games on so if you like them then you'll be happy.
$257 is a lot of money.
I wouldn't spend that on one Gold Collection DVD but I would on lots of them.
If you like Disney, you'll like DVD.
I can't wait to have all Disney DVD as then I will be as good as MickeyMousePal and his friends. :P

I am a fan of DISNEY. But not that big of a fan, becuase I have not seen all 44 aminamted flicks. I have seen the classics like Cinderella, Peter Pan, Snow White, etc. when I was young. I am 21 years old, so watching some of the GOLD COLLECTION DVDS will be very interesting. I mean I do love DISNEY. When I was younger i would go to DISNEYLAND almost every year, sometimes even twice a year!!(really the happiest place on earth). But ever since I bought BAMBI PE, I wantted to collect the DISNEY movies(DVDS). That DVD was just amazing, and also I have not seen it for like 15 years!!
I also did use my reward zone.

TM2-Megatron wrote:I know here in Canada, those Gold Collection DVDs don't go for that much at some stores. At HMV, you can get some of them for 2/$20 and 2/$30, which is $10 and $15 CDN, respectively; a much better price than close to $22 USD.
Are they still ON-SALE at HMV? I saw some of them at Walmart for CAD$18 plus tax. Is this price OK?

I've seen a few of these- I love the Fox & the Hound (and have watched it recently) and I remember liking rescuers down under. The rest I either have not seen or don't remember enough of to give a good opinion. I think I remember liking the Three Caballeros too. Of these I only have the Fox and the Hound but plan on getting the rest at some point in time.

Just a tip when looking to buy DVDs- I usually check online first and most times overstock.com is the cheapest place I've found. I just checked and most of these are $14.13 with $2 shipping no matter what you get (for the month of May, usually shipping is cheap anyway). I got Lion King with a slipcover off overstock for $17 even after it went OOP (they got in a small shipment that was up for about a day).

I wouldn't say your purchase was foolish if you really wanted these and had that kind of money to spend. I personally like to find the best deal on things before I buy, but others have the money to waste. It's a good start to your collection.

1. Saludos Amigos - haven't seen it.
2. The Black Cauldron - It's not as bad as people say it is. I liked it. A young boy has to beat the Horned King to the Black Cauldron.
3. The Rescuers Down Under - It's good. It's really a good idea to get both The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under
4. Make Mine Music - Haven't seen it
5. Hercules - Haven't seen it.
6. The Three Caballeros - Haven't seen it.
7. Fun and Fancy Free - I liked it. It's a combination of shorts but enjoyable.
8. Melody Time - Haven't seen it.
9. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad - Haven't seen it.
10. The Sword in the Stone - I found it funny and it had a happy ending.
11. The Aristocats This is my favourite of the ones you bought. I have it on VHS and it's enjoyable
12. Robin Hood - Basically it's the story of Robin Hood played out almost entirely by animals.
13. The Fox and the Hound - The fox and the hound are supposed to be enemies but they become friends.

Rather than repeat and waste space, you can just look for the opinion of others found on this thread:

This may be off-topic but I just checked my DVDs and I don't have one DVD Disney Gold Collection. I have 19 Disney DVDs. Of those 19, only 6 of them have 1 disc.

They are:
Aladdin: The Return Of Jafar
Aladdin And The King Of Thieves
Bedknobs And Broomsticks: 30th Anniversary Edition
Heidi
The Tigger Movie
Winnie The Pooh: Springtime With Roo

The rest of them are all 2-disc editions.

 Oy vay! I need a new wallet badly. But spend money on it just to keep money in it!? Puh-lease! It's gonna have to get a little more beaten up first. DVDs & vacations are more important! :P
