normally how much is shipping with the movie club? how much is it for the introductory offer, and how much is it for fulfillment purchases?
also, back in the day... you used to be able to browse the catalog online and view the prices for each selection. now it seems that you can't do that without signing on. are most regular edition dvd's 19.95? i'm trying to make sure i'm getting the best deal for the movies i have left to get.
Most DVDs are $19.95, with the exception of multi-disc sets and major new releases (like Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet). There's really NO reason for them to make those $21.95 if they're retailing for the same as those that are offered for $19.95, but I guess they figure they can get a couple of more bucks for each purchase of their most popular titles.
Then, you also have to be wary of their live-action titles. Most of them retail for $14.99 now (in stores for $9.99)...and yet, they're almost all priced at $19.95 in the club, essentially $10 more than you'd pay in a store. Plus shipping.
Standard shipping appears to be $2.95 per order plus $1 per DVD. There are more expensive offers, too, although I'm skeptical of whether they're faster, since the regular shipping is usually pretty reasonable.
i'm slowly in the process of buying up all of the animated dvd's, replacing my vhs collection. pretty much all i have left to get are the old gold collection releases, the ones at least that do not have a special edition release in the foreseen future. should those mainly be the 19.95 price?
