problem with my Disney On the front lines DVD

Post by tu »

i just got this disney treasure DVD yesterday from amazon,
and i think this collection is simply amazing and great,
i have played both discs and the second one run really smooth,
my problem is when i played the "From the Vault " part,
after every Leonard Maltin clip it just went back to the next Leonard Maltin clip or go back to the menu and skipped the shorts ( which i think are the greatest part from the set :( ! i am so sorry for myself! ),
no matter i try played all or just play it,it just doesn't work,i wonder other people have problems like this ?
could it be that part is on the layer my player can not reach ? or do you think that's the disc's problem?
if it's my player i guess i am not going to bother and i will just have to see it sometimes in the future!
thanks!

by the way how do you think about this set and the feature "victory though air power",i really think this is something so precious for us to see after so many years! :)

The "vaulted" section could be seen as the most important part of the whole set, so too bad about your problems. You could try it on some other DVD player and see if it works.

About the set, I agree that it's precious, to say the least. Might be the most important Disney video release ever.

Sounds like a player problem to me. I used to have similar trouble with the Complete Goofy set until I upgraded my player. Are you using an older or less expensive player? My first player completely refused to read Disney menus, a total nightmare for me! All I can suggest is to ask a friend if you can test it in their player; some stores will even let you do that if you say you're in the market for a new player.

Yeah, this was a set that I had waited for most of my life. I have a weird thing for animated WWII propanda; it's just fascinating to me that they had animation deal with such serious subjects back then (because a lot of people don't acknowledge how powerful a cartoon can be even now). I also love how they reflect the times they were made in to the extent that they come off as politically incorrect today.

thanks a lot!!!
i am going to believe this is my problem and try it sometimes
i am just worried if i found out too late ( maybe i can only try it in two weeks ) i can not get a replacement from amazon :?

but i don't think the disc can have any problem,
still i feel i missed so much if i miss those shorts!
but i think this set is well worth the money ! even i missed the shorts i have still spent more than 5 hours watching it!
as i watched it ,i realized this kind of disney can only happen during that time, and they reflect a time that's so different from now,it's really fansinating! :) this is my favoirte one in disney treasure ( and the only one,i just feel i gotta have it!! )
