Since I own the Fantasia Box set, I watch them at least twice a year, both movies at one sitting. Now I don't claim to be a total Fantasia Fan like someone else we know (??), but the box set never leaves the small DVD rack that I have near my Home Theater screen.

I love both of those movies for different reasons. If you take time to watch them, you can grow very fond of certain sequences in each movie.

Hard to tell, I don't keep a record. But I do watch them from time to time, sometimes just certain segments.

Well, Evil Genie Jafar, I like the original Fantasia much better than Fantasia 2000, but I watch it at least maybe 3-4 times a year.

i remember a time when i was younger and every other weekend i'd go stay with my dad for the weekend and my half-brother, step-sister, and I would watch Fantasia every single time for maybe a year or two. We would pick characters in the movie and pretend we were them and dance to the music and stuff... perhaps this helped lead to my obsession and love for music and theater... We'd always stop to watch mickey's sequence and the dinosaur sequence though, bc those were our favorites. I think that last time i actually saw fantasia all the way through though would have to be maybe 6 years ago. As for Fantasia 2000 i saw that in theaters and that was the last time i saw it. I didn't get around to buying them when they were on dvd so now i guess u have to wait unitl Fantasia comes out in the Platinum Editions, i just hope that they release Fantasia 2000 with it!

How often do I watch the Fantasia movies? I haven't seen them recently, and most likely won't see them for years. As much as I love Fantasia, I can't watch it. Yes, I have an old video copy, but it's sadly decaying. I remember seeing the DVD in a sale before it went out of print but back then, I suffered from "I've got it on video, no need for DVD"-syndrome and told myself not to buy it. Now I've recovered, I am kicking myself that I didn't get a copy. And since practicly every other DVD copy on E-Bay is a bootleg, I'll have to wait until 2011 when Disney finally unvaults it.

I haven't watched Fantasia in a LONG time. Usually when I am in the mood for a movie, I'm not in the mood for musical pieces.

But now as I work on my homework, oh how I wish I had an uncut version of Fantasia to listen to in the background!

Whats your fave Fantasia/2000 Segment?

Post by James »

I think that the title speaks for itself - My fave would have to be Pomp and Circumstance from Fantasia 2000!:donald: - Smart, funny, historical, sharp, great storyline and wonderful music!
It was a tough choice because I love both versions and all the segments in each!
What about everybody else?!

Sorry! I didn't know that there was already a thread for this! By the way, thanks for merging them! Great idea, Deathie Mouse!
Another favourite of mine is Ave Maria - simple, wonderfully coloured, elegant and hauntingly effective- what more could you ask for?!

Let's just the only parts of both Fantasia films I don't care for are their opening sequences. Every other segment in these films are all great.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted in here yet. :o

In Fantasia, the Pastoral Symphony tops all. The beautiful colours! The glorious music! Oooooh....but most importantly, there are cute little flying horses! Wheeeeeeeee! :D

I am a fan of Rhapsody in Blue from Fantasia 2000, although the interraction between the conductor, Mickey and Donald is fairly amusing, too.

In Fantasia it's a tie between Sorcerer's Apprentice and Pastoral Symphony.

In Fantasia 2000, I like most of them.

Hands down, Night on Bald Mountain, I love that piece of music, and I thought the music and the scene complimented each other perfectly. I really like a lot of the Russian Composers from that era, but that's one of my favorites period.

I haven't seen the 2000 edition. :( Someone order me to watch it today.
