BILL MURRAY LEADS AN ALL-STAR CAST IN THE HILARIOUS HIGH SEAS COMEDY

THE LIFE AQUATIC
With Steve Zissou

DVD AND 2-DISC CRITERION EDITION PACKED

BURBANK, Calif., February 22, 2005 – The outrageous Bill Murray (“Lost In Translation”) heads up an all-star
cast in the hilarious comedy THE LIFE AQUATIC WITH STEVE ZISSOU, coming to DVD and VHS
from Touchstone Home Entertainment on May 10. Directed by celebrated filmmaker Wes Anderson
(“Rushmore,” “The Royal Tenenbaums”), this exciting and wildly original comedy features Owen Wilson
(“Starsky and Hutch,” “Shanghai Knights”), Cate Blanchett (“The Aviator”) Anjelica Huston (“The Royal
Tenenbaums”), Willem Dafoe (“Spider-Man”), Jeff Goldblum (“Independence Day”), and Michael Gambon
(“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”).

THE LIFE AQUATIC WITH STEVE ZISSOU is available on DVD in two editions. A single disc edition
DVD features deleted scenes with director commentary, interviews with cast and crew with behind-the-scenes
footage, and the original theatrical trailer. Also releasing day and date is a special 2-disc Criterion collector’s
edition containing a bonus disc of extra features including video journals from the set, a documentary on the
making of the film, filmmaker and cast and crew interviews, and much more (please see bonus materials list on
page 2). The Criterion edition also includes a special illustrated insert. Available on DVD and VHS for $29.99
(S.R.P.) and as a 2-Disc Criterion Edition DVD for $32.99 (S.R.P.).

Internationally famed oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) and his crew of misfits set sail on an expedition
to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, possibly non-existent Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou’s partner during the
documentary filming of their latest adventure. They are joined on their voyage by a young airline co-pilot who
may or may not be Zissou’s son (Owen Wilson), a beautiful journalist assigned to write a profile of Zissou (Cate
Blanchett), and Zissou’s estranged wife and co-producer, Eleanor (Angelica Huston). The unsinkable Zissou
faces hilarious complications trying to keep his expedition afloat, including piracy, kidnapping, and mutiny from
his own motley crew Team Zissou.

Thanks for posting this, Renata! It seems silly for them to offer a single-disc version that's just $3 cheaper. (Or really, the 2-disc version is $3 more than most other Buena Vista 2-disc sets today.)

But anyway, I'm looking forward to getting this. Sadly it would be just my 5th Criterion Collection DVD, and 3 of those are Wes Anderson's films.
