Is it worth pre-ordering any movie .. Seems lately they are always offering a free gift or something at the stores... I'd rather just go out day of release and get the cool little toy or something they are offering with that movie.

Mr. Toad wrote:Well the field of unreleased movies is getting pretty thin. What do you wish was released? Dont include those that have been announced such as Cinderella or those that have been released and withdrawn like Little Mermaid

Song of the South
Little Darlings
Nuns on the Run

What's New Pussycat
Woody Guthrie's Hard Travelin
Penn and Teller Get Killed
Scavenger Hunt
Six Pack(the Kenny Rogers NASCAR movie)

Really nothing there that is shocking that has not been released yet as they were not too popular although Nuns on the Run and What's New Pussycat would seem to have enough of a following to make a release a slam dunk.

And where is Little Darlings? Kirsti McNichol at puberty. Come on guys that is dollars in the bank.
Hey I am doing pretty good. Nuns on the Run has been released. What's New Pussycat and Six Pack have been announced.

Witchery (1988) is coming to DVD in October
Dust Devil (1992) is finally making it's Region 1 DVD debut in September, and will be a 5 DISC BOXSET!
Sparkler (1997) was supposed to come out on DVD in July, but isn't anywhere to be seen (WTF, Anchor Bay?!)

Disney has yet to release:
Justin Morgan Had a Horse (one of my mother's favorite movies)
Dr. Syn, the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh
The Monkey's Uncle (or is it, Paw? The sequel to Merlin Jones, there)

Yentl (again, my mother wants this and it's still not yet released on DVD!!!)
Four Flies on Grey Velvet
The Burning
Nowhere (1997) - New Line, get off your BUTTS!!!!
From Beyond

and Region 1 special editions of:
Death Becomes Her
Child's Play
Dead Alive (104-minute Braindead version)
Misery
Pumpkinhead
Fright Night
Scream (1996) (2-disc, hello?) (Director's Cut version in Widescreen, hello?!)

It's The Monkey's Uncle. The Monkey's Paw is a very creepy short story about a monkey's paw that grants you three wishes, though they're granted in demented ways.

I've read The Monkey's Paw and it is very creepy. I find it to be completely horrifying.

Doctor Who: Castrovalva - and it's coming in January in a boxset with the other "Return of the Master" trilogy stories - The Keeper of Traken & Logopolis.

Ah, Castrovalva, my favourite Dr Who story, although nothing happens really in the first two parts, and the final 2 parts require a BSc in mathamatical recursion patterns to understand* and even then nothing much happens. But I love it to bits all the same.

Let me repeat NOTHING HAPPENS - nobody is killed, shot, scared, chased, knocked out, attacked or even looses their temper. Even the Master, the villain, spends most of his time in disguise and being all sweet and kind to the Doctor.

Adric is kidnapped though - and held is some strange electronic fetish-web constuction, but he doesn't count because he's crap. And the story's much better with him either out of the way or in pain for the bulk of it. (The only good Adric is an Adric in pain).

The so-called-climax to the tale is people running not very fast through a cheap 80's visual effect. But I love it.

* That last bit is not true. Well, not quite true. I suspect the mathamatic geeks will get more out of it.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Pretty much everything can be crossed of my previous list. Well, except for the platinums and a wide release for DuckTales.

The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show: Seasons 4 & 5: They're still releasing these aren't they??? Sony did such a great job with seasons 1 and 2(haven't bought 3 yet) with great packaging, transfer and bonus material. They're only 2 seasons away from releasing every episode on DVD, then all of a sudden, there's no announcement in July! Which has been the case for the first 3 seasons. Have they cancelled season sets and have decided to just release "Best of's" for R&B segments, Dudley Do-Right, Mr. Peabody etc. until who knows when? I certianly hope not. I guess I better buy Season 3 to make them know there are fans out there. This will be one of the only show where I will but all the seasons of it.

The Timon and Pumbaa Show: This show has got to get the title for great spin-off ever. Who ever came with the idea was a genius. Timon and Pumbaa's show had loads of great Loony Tune gags and very creative story lines, plus they got a lot of great cameos of other LK characters(and surprisingly got some of the original voices to come back). Even Nathan Lane's occasional replacements did fine. While it's animation isn't the finest, it definetely was Disney's Animation Department at it's best in terms of storytelling. But I guess I should be patient. All the other shows are coming, they'll release this show eventually, right??????

Song of the South: Duh!

Pinocchio: Platinum Edition: Well, actually, all the Platinums, but I'm anticipating this more than any other! I've been anticpating this most since Bambi.(well, it's close between this and TJB, but this movie is imo, the best Disney film made during Walt's lifetime).

Disneyland - The Secrets, Stories and Magic of the Happiest Place on Earth It feels odd that I've been to the DLR twice since the 50th Anniversary, and it STILL hasn't come out yet.

Star Wars: Original Trilogy: It's coming soon. :D Though, I'm not sure 100% if I'd really want to rebuy the same movies, but hey, I want to maybe check them out some point.

Walt Disney Treasures: Nuff' said

Darkwing Duck and DuckTales: Nuff' Said

Lilo and Stitch SE: Why hasn't Disney released a R1 of this yet?

There are probably much more, but that my top 10 for now.

The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition - I don't have any way, shape, or form of this movie, and I've only seen it once (borrowed the LI from the library, the video was TERRIBLE). Anyway, I'm really excited about this release, and I can't wait. Only about a year and two months left

Fantasia: Platinum Edition - I don't think anyone on the forums that doesn't know that I am a HUGE Fantasia fan. So I'm more excited about this DVD than any other DVD in the whole entire WORLD. Hopefully, this will be completely UNCENSORD and totally REMASTERED AND RESTORED TO IT'S ORIGINAL BRILLIANCE

Grease: Rockin' Rydell Edition - What can I say, it's Grease!

The Little Mermaid: Platinum Edition - Who ISN'T excited about this release? The most anticipated movie ever is finally coming out of the Disney vault. I only have the VHS, and the quality of audio/video is horrendous. This will be a defenite upgrade.

Song of the South - I've never seen this movie, and I've only seen one segment (the 1 hour in Wonderland on the Alice in Wonderland Masterpiece Edition), so this would be a MUST buy for me.

I'm first and foremost looking forward to more Walt Disney Treasures, in particular the volumes that will hopefully complete the classic theatrical animated shorts.

If a future "Platinum" edition of Fantasia is going to be better than the existing edition I'm certainly looking forward to that as well!

I too am waiting for seasons 4 and 5

but I get the sneaking suspicion that season 4 will probably be announced for sometime in September (considering season 1 was released in July and seasons 2 and 3 were released in August)

Excuse me if this is pointless bumping(I am afraid it might be) but damn I am excited about my list.

I thought Happy Days, Twin Peaks and Rockford Files had been discontinued and they are starting again. And the holy grail of TV on DVD - WKRP, which Fox had announced they were not going to do is coming. Wahoo.
