I agree

Rent it first, take it as a little "invest" for getting a better "profit" and stay away of a possible "loss"

I agree with Dan05 rent first then buy. Or if you have a friedn who has a copy of it borrow it and watch it. I am definietely buying. I'm not sure about other places but here in TX or at least in my city for the first 5 days that a movie is released it is about $15 then it goes up to the regular price. Is that true for other areas?

It is that way in most places, I believe. A DVD is usually released at a low price point the first week, then it goes up to the regular suggested retail price, or close to it.

Since I am a DVD collector, and have been adding Disney Animated releases to my collection, I figure if the price is low, I'll pick up Pocahontas when it comes out.

Thanks for all of the advice!

Sometimes it can go visa-versa as well. The Incredibles went on sale about a month after it's release and then went back up.

It looks like EVERYWHERE has Pocahontas for $19.99. A LOT higher than I expected.

However, since I am a Best Buy Reward Zone member (got it free when I bought my PSP!), I guess I will pick it up at Best Buy, and get the 10,000 bonus points. That will give me another $5.00 certificate, when combined with my other points that have not been issued a certificate!

Im in the same situaiton as our friend. I have never seen Pocohontas but I found myself to be a Disney DVD collector (in the beginning stages at least) but I figured if I am going to buy it, I will probably wanna buy it now while its cheap ($16 at Sears) then wait and find out its $20-25 regularly at Best Buy in the future weeks. I will probably not want to spend that much haha

So I found the GOLD collection DVD at my local library and took it out and will probably watch it before Saturday when all the sales end and find out if I should buy it or not hehe

Also do you think this is something that girls might favor over boys? I dont know why I'm asking this (BTW, I did like Mulan :) )
and Yes im a 20 yr old guy)1

Ok rant is done!

I picked my copy up at Best Buy. I paid $19.99 plus tax, and got 10,000 bonus points (for a total of 11,999 points) on my Reward Zone card. Not a bad deal!

Anyway, since I've been so busy with finishing up college classes for the semester, and with work, I haven't had a chance to put it in. I plan to do so, tomorrow, and I'll report back with my opinion of the film.

I know I will someday.

I've been watching EVERY disney film available at Blockbuster/Library or home library in order to see what ones I will buy and which ones I enjoyed etc.

I watched Pocohontas out of order just because I wanted to see if I should buy it while its cheap :)

I'm up to "The Rescuers" on my list (which deserves a double-disc CD)

Best Buy's Emperor's New Groove- SHould I buy?

Post by Merman »

I know theres a thread to this but I had a question in which no one could of seen it if I had put it there. Should I buy the emperor's new groove from Best Buy, it's $16.99 but Im hesitating because Disney has the tendency of re-releasing Dvd's. Do you guys think that The Emperor's New Groove will be getting a 2 disc re-release or should I go ahead and buy it?
