Platinum Edition movies about Animals...

Post by Alice »

I don't know idf this has been addressed before but if you noticed on the slipcovers for
the two titles about animals that are "Platinum" titles {TLK and Bambi}, have the top banner and the bottom banner NOT "Platinum"...

TLK has a sort of Bronze and Bambi is kinda Gold..........

Isn't that a little weird?? {No wait, I'm weird.......}

Although I agree that it's odd for a banner to say Platinum when it isn't so, I'm pretty sure the reason The Lion King and Bambi had non-Platinum-colored banners was because "platinum" (aka silver) would've clashed with their color schemes. All of the other Platinums (Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Cinderella) have cooler color schemes that better support the "platinum" color. The Lion King and Bambi both have warmer schemes, so Disney chose banners that better suited them. I think the fact that they're animal films is just a coincidence, though if Lady and the Tramp gets a non-"platinum" banner, things will seem odd, indeed...

I understand that because having Platinum on both TLK and Bambi would look odd......I just felt like mentioning the coincidence that both films were centered around animals and they didn't have a "Platinum"-color banner.......

I Think They Picked The "Bronze" Color So It Mixes In With The Artwork.

It would look pretty bad if they used silver on those two especially Lion King considering that the cover is mostly orange.

I like it the way they are :D

I noticed this too! But I dont think it would look horrible if they used the Silver banner for each of the movies. It might go better with some rather than others, but it wouldnt look that bad.

Then again, Disney has NO consistency. :lol:
