"Saved By The Bell" The first seasons not the fir
I just bought the Box set of "Saved By The Bell" Box set which includes the first two seasons, but it does not seem to be the first two seasons of the show. The episodes on there is when they are somewhat older than when the show began. So I was wondering if any one knows why the first seasons were not released. My only thought is that maybe they were done on a different TV station so the rights are not owned by NBC but I am not sure I thought they were all originally on NBC. But any input would be great.
Are you talking about the "Good Morning Miss Bliss" episodes that starred Hayley Mills? That was the show that was reworked to become Saved By the Bell. Thirteen episodes of it aired on the Disney Channel in 1989.
The episodes from that show were later shown on SBTB as "flashback" episodes, and if I'm not mistaken, the episodes on the DVD are in order of airdate, not production, so maybe those earliest episodes will be released in a future edition.

I sure hope we get the 13 "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" episodes as well...but I think they were deliberately not released. I'm hoping it's not a rights issue as some have stated (since supposedly, NBC bought all rights to the show, which is why they air on TBS with the rest of the run). I'm sure Tuesday's release is selling (and will sell, through Christmas), strong enough to expect future releases.
If Disney really is the reason behind GMMB not being released, ugh. They're so clueless when it comes to releasing TV on DVD.

Thanks for the info.
I did not know that SBTB started out on the Disney Channel as "Good Morning Mrs. Bliss" I had seen these episodes before I assume it musst have been as the flashback episodes. And look forward to seeing them again. So I to hope that they are just going to release them in the order they aired. I would assume Disney does not have the rights to them because I have seen the earlier episodes aired on TBS in the last year or so.

Yeah, they've been airing this week, actually. Although syndication and home video rights aren't always on the same page.Papa Bear wrote:I would assume Disney does not have the rights to them because I have seen the earlier episodes aired on TBS in the last year or so.

just to clarify so that u guys dont wonder anymore..the reason "good morning miss bliss" episodes of SBTB were not released YET is becuase those are more unknown than the SBTB cast the world is used to seeing..Since TBS airs "miss bliss" in its SBTB version "flashback"
i think u can all be rest assured that if the SBTB sets sell well Lions gate will most likely try to cash in on the money by releasing this as an easy 2-3 disc set.
