Newbie -- Commentaries

Post by oh_bother »

Hi all, I'm new to the Ultimate Disney Forum and thought I'd say hi. I'm an English university student with a love of Disney, in particular Winnie-the-Pooh. I'm trying to fill up my DVD collection, and have a question.

Which Region 2 DVDs come with audio commentaries?

:)

although I'm no expert, off the top of my head, there's Aladdin, Tarzan, Emperor's new groove, Atlantis. Some out of print dvd's have audio commentaries, like Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.

If I'm not mistaken, the collector's editions of the Pixar films also had audio commentaries. I'm sure there's an UD expert that will come up with the full list :)

Thanks! I'm looking for a picture of Winnie the Pooh in an "oh bother" moment to use as a signiture/icon when I get enough posts :)

How do I reply directly to someone else's comment, as in the one which quotes "Lady & The Tramp II"?

Thanks, Wonderlicious. Don't suppose you have a list of the R1 DVDs with commentary too, do you?

I have to say I love commentaries and other special features, and it really annoys me that all regions don't have the same features. *sigh*

R1 is the same as above plus Dumbo, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000, Tarzan* and Sleeping Beauty.

*The new upcoming UK version of Tarzan will have a new audio commentary.

At the top right of each post, you'll see a series of buttons. This one: <img src="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/tem ... _quote.gif"> is at the left of that batch. You'll want to click it and it will do all the work for you. Well unless you only want to quote a part of a post, then you'll have to delete the excess.

OK, I just need to get this straight. The DVDs with commentary are:

Aladdin
Atlantis: The Lost Empire : 2 Disc Collector's Edition
Bambi
Beauty and the Beast (OOP, 2 disc collector's edition only)
Brother Bear
Dumbo (R1 only)
The Emperor's New Groove : 2 Disc Collector's Edition
Fantasia (R1 only)
Home on the Range
Lady and the Tramp II
The Lion King (OOP)
Mary Poppins
Mulan : Special Edition
Peter Pan (OOP)
Pocahontas : Special Edition
Sleeping Beauty (R1 only)
Snow White (OOP)
Tarzan : Special Edition (released in May, though)
Treasure Planet

All the Pixar Collector's Editions

Is that right?

So when I see a copy on The Hunchback of Notre Dame on eBay with commentary by Kirk Wise, Gary Trousdale, and Don Hahn, should I assume its fake?

:headshake: I've shamed myself :headshake:

How could I forget that HND has a commentary. The R1 does have a commentary yes!

Oh, don't shame yourself :( We all make mistakes, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't about to bid on a fake. There's another seller claiming that Mulan 2 has commentary as well.

Oh I knew about those, but I didn't think you wanted live action.

I can make a list of live action titles for you too if you'd like?
