Simpsons Season 1

Post by magicalwands »

Is Simpsons Season 1 worth $16 ? But i think the reason why it's only one bid is the following:

1) it's was released a long time ago
2) "Brand New Condition" as they describe it could mean gently used.

im hoping the reason is 1 but i dont know, should i really get it and slowly start collecting the Seasons DVDs so I can have a "Show" type DVD rather than all "Movies" ? and anyways my mom might let me have a job this summer.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are asking aside from if its worth $16.

I know that Target had the first season on sale this week for $19.99.

If you're asking if the DVD itself is worth the money in quality, well, I have it, and I like it alot. It's got a very nice old-time feel in the episodes. The commentaries are nice. My favorite episode is Krusty Gets Busted, and I liked it before I knew Brad Bird directed it!

Those of us who paid $35 for it when it first came out (:( ) will tell you that $16 or even $19.99 is a good deal. If that's what you're asking, then go for it. :)

Here in Canada the cost is...

Season 1: $34.99
Season 2: $45.99
Season 3: $45.99
Season 4: $45.99
Season 5: $45.99

So yes, i'd say it's worth it.

I'd recommend getting it as well....The Simpsons is a great show....I have seasons 1-5,and I love watching them(for some reason, the syndicated version cuts out a few minutes out of every episode, but on DVD,it's uncut)....

Oh yeah!

My fiance is a Simpsons fanatic but never used to care much for the first season. I turned him around on that.

At any rate, that first season is extremely important to the history of animation. I think people kinda take the series for granted now (whether they actually like the series or not) because it's been around for so long.

But how many people remember when the series was brand new? How controvercial it was at the time and how tame it seems now in comparison?

I was in junior high when the show premiered, and it was exciting to watch on Sunday nights and have something cool to talk about at school on Monday mornings! And it's so interesting to see how the show evolved from those early days.

I want to get all of them on DVD eventually, but so far I only have the first two seasons.

I love the Simpsons, and I have seasons 1-4, one is probably my least favorite season of all. If your are a fan of the show then it is worth the $16 dollars.

I'm sad because I let my girlfriend take it with her to college and somehow disc 2 got lost. Now I have to buy the whole season all over again just so I can get disc 2.

Well, for $16 it's worth it if just for the extras and the commentaries (always great).

But more than that, I don't think so. I have all current seasons except that one. It's not worth in my opinion to pay for just 13 episodes, not that funny and for me not that rewatchables.

PS

I love watching The Simpsons whenever I'm eating something. Be them new or never before seen episodes (better of course) but it doesn't matter how many times I watch the same episode they're always fun to watch.

"The Simpsons" Seasons 1-8 on DVD are a MUST HAVE for EVERY single person (that can afford it) on the planet IMO. Those episodes are american TV sit com at its all time best.
