In NATIONAL TREASURE, a secret from our nation’s past leads to the greatest adventure in history. Academy
Award® winner Nicolas Cage stars as the brilliant Benjamin Franklin Gates, third generation treasure hunter. All
his life, Gates has been searching for a treasure no one believed existed: amassed through the ages, moved across
continents, to become the greatest treasure the world has ever known. Hidden by our Founding Fathers, they left
clues to the Treasure’s location right before our eyes… from our nation’s birthplace to the nation’s capitol, to clues
buried within the symbols on the dollar bill.
Gates’ life-long journey leads him to the last place anyone thought to look: a map hidden on the back of the
Declaration of Independence. But what he thought was the final clue is only the beginning. As word of the
invisible map spreads among the enemies of freedom, Gates realizes in order to protect the world’s greatest
treasure, he must now do the unthinkable: steal the most revered, best guarded document in American history
before it falls into the wrong hands.
In a race against time, Gates teams up with a beautiful government official (Diane Kruger) as he tries to elude his
ruthless adversary (Sean Bean) as well as the FBI and Agent Sadusky (Harvey Keitel). With even his ex-treasurehunter
father (Jon Voight) skeptical of him, Gates must decipher the remaining clues and unlock the 2000 year-old
mystery behind our greatest national treasure.

Whoa, I can't wait for National Treasure to come out on DVD in April it's one of the biggest surprises of 2004 besides The Incredibles.
It's a must buy for any Disney fan.
Also is Pocahontas: Tenth Anniversary Edition, which comes out on the same day as National Treasure.

Nice to finally have a press release, as I was anxious to see what the final specs would be. I'm somewhat dissapointed its not a 2-Disc set. The film did well at the box-office, so it warrents a deluxe release, and it could surely include more bonuses than its getting.
I'll probably pick it up though. The movie itself turned out to be better than what I expected. It's nothing extraordinary to be sure, but it's quite entertaining, and manages to be different than most other adventure fare out there.

you think if Disney was smart (erm..smarter), they'd actually LISTEN to what fans wanted with their DVDs.

Sorry to disappoint RJKD23, but it is just a single-disc release. The DVD left me wanting more extras. I've just posted my full review (with 18 screencaps) here.

awesome review. I'll definitely be getting the dvd. I loved the film, it was so silly yet entertaining. Pretty much like Pirates of the Caribbean and the first Princess Diaries film. When you think about it, Disney has been doing some really good live action films recent years. Hope they keep on doing that.
I agree. They've gotten very good indeed. With live action movies like this, it's bringing even more fame and accolade to an already famous studio. When you think about it, Disney has been doing some really good live action films recent years.
Thanks Luke for the review, I'm glad I didn't see this in theaters, seeing as how it'll give me the chance to go buy this and see it at home.

But after reading your review, Luke, I'm hella excited for this DVD! The movie was great!
Plus, you mentioned "booklet" in the DVD. Heck yes!

And of course the DVD content is what I'm looking more forward to!

If they could've just added the 2nd disc filled with lots of bonus...
