The Jungle Book?

Any chance of a re-release of this on DVD? I know there is one OOP but they seem to release some of these at different intervals if they aren't going PE.

Fans of JB (like us) are crossing our fingers for March 2007, the PE release. :) I hope!

I got a copy of the Limited Issue version on Ebay and it was still sealed! I was very pleased with it and it wasn't too expensive, I payed 30 bucks total for it sealed. I wish it would get a Platinum release cause it is one of my favorite Disney movies but the one I have will last me till then.

Personally, I wouldn't spend thirty dollars on "The Jungle Book" but it's not one of my favorites, I don't care whether or not it's sealed and I don't buy stuff online.

I've got the linited issue one, too. I love it because I love the movie, but I'd rather disney put one out that had at least a few bonus features.

Ohhhh... I gotta wait until March 2007, hopefully it'll come out until then. I wouldn't be able to wait any longer.

It's a shame you don't like it, because this is actually one of Disney's best. Sure it has a few errors, but it has excellent music, a fabulous cast of character(and a fabulous cast as well) and fabulous animation and a well told story that even inspires animated movies today!!! Including my favorites!(Lion King, The Incredibles)

I don't know. The story used to be one of my favorites, I think Haley Joel Osment voicing Mowgi in the sequel is what really turned me off.

Yeah I didn't like that either, He also voiced the main character in Kingdom Hearts, Haley Joel or not that was a great game, You just have to forget who is doing the voice and just appreciate the character, I think John Goodman did a great Baloo. He has a very good voice for animation.

John Goodman was fine. It's just that Haley Joel bugs me. I don't know why.

Didn't see the second one.

I see they go new on ebay for between $20 - $30.

That expensive???

I don't go on Ebay, so I wouldn't know. I don't like to buy stuff online. It just seems more expensive because of S&H and Internet auctions can also go really high (well, that's just a guess but anyway...)

I get most of my DVD's off a site w/free shipping and is 99% of the time a good $10 + cheaper than most stores.

I was going to start a thread on this, but seeing as a Jungle Book thread exists, I may as well post what I think; I think that The Jungle Book will actually be the October 2007 platinum instead of 101 Dalmatians. Why?

1. It will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary in October 2007, and seeing as Disney loves the word "anniversary", I think we can expect Disney's first triple-titled DVD.

2. Disney has a tendancy to release exotic films in autumn (The Lion King, Aladdin and Mulan came in October/November).

3. In Europe, 101 Dalmatians only got one release on video in 1996, so pushing that film up would probably be fair for all Europeans.

4. In late 2007, Disney will have been 70 years in the feature film business. Disney always get excited about these kind of things and will probably start a "70 years of feature-length classics" celebration all over Disney-dom. A DVD release of The Jungle Book would be a better tie-in around this time, as this movie has more legacy than 101 Dalmatians being the last movie made by Walt.

Excellent points. Now that I think of it, I kinda agree about this! + I can see Jungle Book having a gift set, something only October titles (apparently) get!
