I like the Slip cover! mine came with it. I took it off my disc cause it won't fit in the B&B box set.

Beauty and the Beast Box Set??

Post by Mermaid Kelly »

They made a Beauty and the Beast box set? What did it come with? Also is Sleeping Beauty a good movie? It is one of the few I have never seen.

Beauty and the Beast films were not sold as a box set, but each Special Edition release (but only of the first 3 films-Belle's Tales of Friendship was excluded) came with an insert to order the $1.99 slipcase (mine is a VHS case, and three VHS's don't fit).

It's not that great, unless you want a great way to display your collection.

No there was not a box set, not like the lion king, but for a lucky few, they were able to order a case, probably cardboard, that would hold BATB, The Enchanted X-Mas, and Belle's Magical World, if you bought all three. Many people who ordered it, including my mom, got refund checks a few months later because there was not enough boxes made to go around, but it didn't matter since my mom never got Belle's Magical World. :)

Also, I really like your Avatar too, I also saw the same one on a site, where it was airbrushed and looked very cool, incase you decided later on that you want something newer, but really like that shot...

Thanks, you guys, for the info! I bought the Platinium dvd and it didn't come with the offer, oh well, I didn't buy the other two movies anyway. They didn't seem to make sense because in the end of the first movie, Beast transforms into a man, so how could he be a beast again in the second two movies!?

Here's a review on mouseplanet.com:
The DVD version of this classic Disney film looks and sounds better than it ever has, and it features an amazing array of bonus material for the whole family.

This set definitely deserves a place in your family's home video collection, and for the price you will probably find at most discount stores, is a bargain for the quality and quantity of material.

Just saw another commercial for it on CBS, and it was advertised as For a Limited Time Only.

Does anyone have further insight into this 'feature'?
I found a picture that looks like the cardboard slip cover:

About making as much money as they can in the short term?

And that slip does look pretty cool actually.
I have the R1 (in addition to the R2) B & tB and it looks almost identical...

Oh dear, I feel a 'spending spree' coming on...

(Probably not though).

I think it's going to be like BATB slip cover because it looks just like the BATB one LOL!
Why didn't BATB get the royal treatment like The Lion King Gift set is getting? Plus they are going to have the original colors from when the movie first came out!  --- Sorry This Slipped LOL!

They will add Sleeping Beauty back into the vault at the end of January with another handful selection like they do every year! :) I believe this is why they are saying for a Limited Time Only!

They said that with Belle's Magical World, and I still see it in stores so what's up with that? Maybe because it stunk so much they want people to go out and get it lol!

Thanks for the picture Starion but who cares about slipcases that "open like a book" any more. I've just got the UK Atlantis CE, and it has a slipcase that "opens like a shampoo bottle"

BTW see how the "open book" promotes only the "fluff" on the set :(
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I find it funny how just a few days ago, in another thread, we were joking about how Disney promotes all the fluffy features and mentions the good ones as an afterthought - and thats exactly what they did here! All the really good stuff they crammed to the bottom!

You know, it makes me mad this will be a limited thing, but I'm still going to buy it of course! I think it's probably worth it, since it won't be coming out again until HD-DVD becomes popular, and then your DVDs will still work on the HD-DVD player!

No, its been made clear in several articles that they definately are planning to make HD-DVD players backwards compatable.
