Platinium release schedul- Scandinavia

Post by Todd_star »

Hi there!
I had so many questions about release dates of Disney DVDs
here in Norway, that i sent a mail to a person at
Buena Vista Home Entertainment.
I didn`t expect to really get any answers, but i got!
Here is the platinium schedule for Scandinavia:

Snow White okt 01
Beauty and the Beast okt.02
Lion King okt.03
Aladdin mar.04
Bambi okt.04
Cinderella mar.05
Lady and the Tramp okt.05
The Little Mermaid mar.06
The Jungle Book okt.06
101 Dalmatinas mar.07
Pinocchio okt.07
Snow White mar.08
Peter Pan okt.08
Beauty and the Beast mar.09
Sleeping Beauty okt.09
Lion King mar.10
Fantasia okt.10

Don`t know if this list is for R1 and the rest of the world..?,
but it counts for Scandinavia!
(Also Tarzan and Mulan is scheduled for 2005.)

Well at least in the U.S., the 2 a year schedule starts in 2005, so next year, we only get Aladdin in October. After that the schedule will probably be similar to what you posted.

I know.
It`s pretty confusing with all the schedule list.
But yay, we are getting two titles next year!
I just hope they stick to this list and don`t make any changes..

Yeah, see, that's what I just don't get.
How in the hell can Disney possibly keep all of these schedules straight? I swear this is like the 5th or 6th different one we've had posted.

Tod, this might be a good post for the international forum, and don't everyone worry so much about it, this is scandanavia's list, not the US's which is sure to be a bit different do to different factors...

Wow! I can't wait to get Bambi on DVD.
I just hope we don't get quickly-put-together releases that are inferior to the US versions released later... That would be a shame.

Based on past experience, I would say that that is more than likely Billy.

Still, when it comes down to it, it's the movie that counts.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Well, yeah. So long as it is the original movie we get and not some suped-up special edition or something...

i think it's ingenious for disney to cleverly release these amazing dvds so that we get some that others want and they get some that we want. we buy the international releases to tide us over until we get the same thing in our own region dvds. disney gets everyone buying the dvds twice! o.k. i've totally just confused myself now, excuse while i exit quietly in the back.

Out of all the platinum lists that have been wandering around aimlessly around the web, I must say I like Scandinavia's order the best and I hope the U.S. schedule is very close (since it's impossible for it to be exactly the same due to really messed up schedule chandes).

Scandinavian release before US release of platinum editions is very unlikely.
I just checked with the danish division of buenavista nordic, and they confirm that we will get only one platinum release in 2004, and that is Aladdin. No Bambi in 2004.

That platinium list is very outdated.
It says that it comes out one dvd once a year up to 2010..
We know they changed their strategy.
I just hope that this list comes true!

Its not from a list, its directly from a contact at buenavista.
It is the list in the top of this thread that is outdated.
Yes they changed the schedule to 2 a year, but they also changed it again, so now the two a year schedule will start 2005, or later.
Only Aladdin in 2004, no Bambi. Sorry.

Well my list is from my contact at buenavista.
I don`t say that mine list is 100% true, I only got told that this is the list.
But I am hoping it is true, like you woulden`t..?
