Like a few other people said, all the new releases except for Brave Little toaster were at my local Costco for $13.49. Some real deals for those jam packed SEs.

I'm like Luke in that I usually pick up the major releases at a B&M store (Sleeping Beauty, Lion King, Finding Nemo) but my time & GAS is too valuable to drive from store to store still to rarely find most catalogue titles anyway. I ordered Apple Dumpling & both Witch Mountains for $14.99 each & B&W Absent Minded Professor for $13.80 from DDD. They shipped on the 2nd (usually the ship a week early & arrive a day or 2 after street date). Good prices, no tax, free shipping, no wasted gas and I know I'll get all the titles. It's worth a few days wait.

online ordering

Post by donaldduckfan »

thanks again to everyone for the welcome. nice to know there's some BTTF fans here too! i'm now officially changing to ordering online. last night i preordered all the new treasures and wasn't charged for shipping and there was also no tax. i've been wasting my time going to best buy. i guess it's just the idea that if you want something right then all you have to do is go pick it up. with online you gotta wait but at least you can find what you're looking for.

Well, I do lots of online ordering, too, but I still like to go into a B&M store to purchase. I guess it's the "must have it right now" mentality! It seems everytime I order new releases from amazon.com or bestbuy.com or any other online retailer, it takes FOREVER for them to arrive. I guess I just don't have the patience to wait! As for the new Treasures in Dec., I really would prefer to buy them in a B&M store because I ordered the first wave from the Disneystore.com and all four of them came with the metal outer cases dented. I don't mean little dents-almost all of them had each of it's four corners dented in. I know I could have sent them back, but it was just such a hassle.

Oh, and welcome to DonaldDuckfan! I am a Tennessean, too!

Sometimes, Amazon's free shipping is just as prompt as their regular shipping and I get things on release day. Other times, like with The Simpsons and now with the John Hughes High School Reunion Collection, they just sit on them for a few days. I wouldn't mind if it was taking a long time in the mail, but they wait until like Friday/Saturday to ship. That's just annoying and ultimately, it doesn't save them any money, as far as I can tell. It just costs them customer satisfaction.

Yup. I'm still waiting for my Vault box to ship...
Amazon.ca says Usually ships in 6 to 12 days!!! (It was 2-3 when I ordered), as opposed to US Amazon being within 24 hours. I'd order through Amazon US, but it is soooo much cheaper for me through Canada (if it ever ships) - by about $20...

And I might have to order the Simpsons seeing Fox Australia (which is normally on the ball with such things - we already have the 1st 6 seasons of Buffy) are yet to announce a date...

i, as well, just don't have the patience for waiting for things in the mail. it's one of my bad habits i guess (well, that and buying anything with the disney name on it....including P&S catalog titles  ). the only time i buy stuff online is when i just can't find it in any store.

I bought Brave Little Toaster today at walmart for 14.44 and guess what!.......... there was NO INSERT :( :( i thought Disney was shaping up. I know all the live action films had them. I was quite disapointed.

:o Maybe it's just that Brave Little Toaster wasn't really a Disney animated film. I guess the rest of them do?

:?: What is Costco's? Is it similar to Sam's Club or a Wal*Mart? We don't have any Costcos in Arkansas (to my knowledge anyway). Thanks in advance!

Cosco is just like Sam's Club, except not owned by Wal-Mart, err, Sam Walter. :D

Thanks for the info! I live in Wal-Mart land, where Walmart is everywhere. Mr. Sam wears overalls without shirts...just like all the other Arkansans

Wal-Mart and Sam's have them cheap, too. I'll have to convince my bros to get Apple Dumpling Gang for my b-day.
