Which Platinum Release are you most looking forward to?

Post by Prince Phillip »

I think the title is pretty self explanitory, I do not include the Lion King in this as it's release is right around the corner...

I only want ONE! No I can't just pick one answers coughIndianacough
Also this is Platinum release, which one are you anticipating the most which has the feature you most cave, which movie do you want to know more about... (I say all this because I don't want an answer like "Bambi, because it hasn't been on DVD yet". I'd rather have "Cinderella, because there were a lot of songs deleted from it, and I would like to know more about them")

I'm going to re-register ten times just so I can vote for them all.
There is no way to keep me from picking just one :D

But for the poll's sake, I did this time: The Little Mermaid all the way.

I voted for Bambi, because I have excellent LaserDisc copies of everything else on your list. Bambi, however, was a very flawed transfer (scratches and other obvious imperfections) to both VHS and LaserDisc.

Well, me and my mom already got what we wanted (BatB for me, Snow White for Mom), so I guess I'll pick The Little Mermaid--for my sister.

1) Jungle Book
2) Cinderella
3) Lady & The Tramp
4) Aladdin
5) 101 Dalmations
6) Bambi
7) The Little Mermaid

If Pinocchio was added to the choice list it'd be number one.

Out of those, I am most eager for the Little Mermaid. It's the only one that has already been released on DVD that I do not have... tried to buy it on ebay and got burned... bad bad memories.. oh how i want to see The Little Mermaid in digital quality

Without a doubt, Aladdin. I have fond memories of this one, but haven't seen it since 1993. I can't wait to revisit it on DVD.

Here's my order of most anticipated:

1. Aladdin
2. Cinderella
3. Bambi
4. The Little Mermaid
5. Lady and the Tramp
6. The Jungle Book
7. 101 Dalmatians

Yeah, Aladdin for me too - absolutely.
I have most of my faves on DVD, and Mermaid would be a must buy for me (although I already have the old version).
I think Aladdin though, because I don't have it in any format.

Don't assume all (or any) of Cinderella's deleted songs will be on the DVD. Disney included a song Demo recording on the specs for their Beauty and the Beast Platinum release, and the demo song wasn't included.

Basically, if Disney thinks that by witholding these recordings they will encourage more soundtrack sales, you can bet they will withold them.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

yeah, but no soundtrack has the deleted songs, unless they put them on a SE soundtrack when the Platinum version is released on DVD.

Film wise: The Little Mermaid
Supplement wise (if the same as the Laserdisc): Cinderella

The Little Mermaid... I already have the Limited Edition, but this is one of my favourite films, and I can't wait for the deluxe treatment.

I voted for Aladdin, but The Little Mermaid is hot on the heels of that followed by Cinderella and Lady and the Tramp.

Although as a film I like Aladdin more, I voted for Cinderella because for some reason I'm more excited for that release. Perhaps it's because a) I know Disney will give it the royal treatment like Snow White and b) I know when Aladdin's coming out whereas Cinderella's R1 date keeps drifting all over the place. If I would rank them on how much I want them, it'd be like this:

1. Cinderella
2. Aladdin
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Lady and the Tramp
5. The Jungle Book
6. Bambi
7. 101 Dalmatians

Geez, i bet you guys didn't know who i'd pick.... Cinderella has always been my favorite movie since early childhood and unlike many of the other films, i've not been able to find much information on it (other than animatedmoves.com)... I can't wait to see the extras on this disc... :D

My list would be as follows:

1. Cinderella
2. Aladdin
3. Lady and the Tramp
4. 101 Dalmatians
5. The Little Mermaid
6. The Jungle Book
7. Bambi

Oh, far and away The Little Mermaid. That movie is what made me a life-long animation and Disney fan. I still remember my parents bringing me to see it when I was 6. To this day whenever anyone asks what my favorite movie is, I say The Little Mermaid. Whenever I watch it, I'm a little kid again, enthralled by tall the colors, and the music, the funny characters, and all the amazingly graceful animation. As far as I'm concerned, it just doesn't get any better than The Little Mermaid.

:) My pick would definately be The Little Mermaid, (that is probably pretty obvious to everyone by now! :P ). That movie brings memories of my childhood, since I loved it ever since I first saw it in the theater in 1989...I was two :) ) I have the special edition VHS, but still I cant wait for all the specials of the platinium! :)
