Does anyone know any info about the Platinium Little Mermaid
Does anyone know when is the release date? I thought it was 2005. Also does anyone know any bonus features, or special things to be on it?

None of the technical aspects of the Discs have been announced since we are so far out from a release date. So at this point we can only speculate and wish. As far as an official release date, I thought that once Disney moved to a two-a-year Platinum schedule we would see it in 2005.
That's what I'm clinging to (and hoping for) until I see something official that says otherwise.

Each year, in the winter, a title makes it's I-max debut, before making it's platinum dvd debut the following fall. Last year was Beauty and the Beast, this year was The Lion King, next year is Aladdin, and the year after that is suppose to be The Little Mermaid, so I would count on a October 2005 release for The Little Mermaid - Special Platinum Edtion! (The Special is because, Mermaid is sure to have a brand new animated song, put in, just as BATB, and TLK have, and Aladdin is sure to have, due to the many deleted songs...)
SO that is something else to expect, an additional song/animated segment...
A cleaned up tranfer is something else I would expect...
There may even be news of the new broadway version of the Little Mermaid on there! (This may also be the case with Aladdin)
You can bet a SE of The Little Mermaid 2 will follow the Platinum release of the first...
Let's see... anything else?
Extensive Galleries
Segmented Documentary, similar to that of BATB
Under the Sea games (for the kiddies)
"Under the Sea" sing-a-long (pretty obvious, I think, though maybe no)
Teenie bopper group version of a song, probably "part of your world" though possibly "under the sea"
I know I'm leaving some obvious stuff out, but oh well that's all I can think of now...
oh and expect there to be frequent mention of how this began disney's rennaissance.
Can't wait for this one!

Although I didn't pick up any of the other bare bones releases when they came out a few years back, Little Mermaid was one I felt should buy.
And I certainly got my money's worth out of it, I've played it that many times. And I could have sold it for 5 times what I paid for on eBay...but I think not.
Despite that, I would buy a SE in a heartbeat. It has to be my favourite of the late 80s/early 90s films (although it is such a tough call).
Can't wait until 2005...
