Your favourite Disney movie before your current one?
As our favourites change all the time, I was just wondering what everybody's favourite Disney animated feature was before your current one. Most people here know that my favourites (tied together at number 1) are Alice in Wonderland and The Little Mermaid, but before that, both Pinocchio and Aladdin had held the top spot (both alone, by the way). Now that I've shared mine, why not share yours?

I have several favorite movies.. but the list always begin with Bambi! (then continues with Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove, Tarzan, The Sword in the Stone and Sleeping Beauty.) As for my favorite live-action Disney film? Easy. The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (followed closely by National Treasure).

Sounds like me. Now it's The Lion King/Lady And The Tramp. Before that is was Pollyanna and 101 Dalmations. Those two were one the first Disney movies I saw. Every year around Christmas time at school, they'd show us a movie and usually it was a Disney movie.DaveWadding wrote:I dunno...I always have a bunch of favorites. Can never pick just one.

Well, for a long time, through high school, I was in a Disney drought, didn't care for the movies at all...well...since Lion King. After about 8 years of missing out, I watched Brother Bear. And since Lion King, Brother Bear has been my favorite movie.
And now it's also currently Pirates of the Carribean, Freaky Friday (2003) and The Emperor's New Groove.

Before Alice, my favorite Disney movie was either Cinderella or The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I don't think I ever really thought about singling out a favorite until I re-discovered Alice and proclaimed it #1. I do know for sure that Cindy and Hunchback were my most played VHS tapes before Alice (re)stepped in. I say "re" because I actually grew up with Alice, but when I was about 7 or 8, I lost the tape and didn't see the film again until I was about 12 (I bought the Masterpiece Collection re-release VHS in 1999 that had the jury room cover). It was then I realized how much I missed and loved the film.

They are interchangable, and quite often I'll watch something that I haven't seen in a while and fall in love with that all over again.
Fantasia and Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad (the Headless horseman bit in particular) were my favourites growing up, but now a "Top 5" would pretty much include Lilo & Stitch, Fantasia, Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh interchangably.
