If I bought an OOP Disney DVD second hand...?
I was browsing eBay looking for some deals on BATB platinum and the prices aren't that bad and it's pretty easy to buy one in used condition. i was just thinking, because it's kinda hard to go through the whole bidding, paying and shipping process if u live in canada, how much does Disney replace as far as discs and slipcovers go? If a dvd is OOP, would they still send you the inserts and all that? it would be pretty easy because in town theres a lot of second hand places for electronics, but if it weren't in the BEST condition...would it be worth it? mainly as long as it plays fine and the cover isnt torn to pieces is my main priority. that and having the dvd companions etc. inside. what do you think?

They replace slipcovers for free, but discs are $6.95 each.i was just thinking, because it's kinda hard to go through the whole bidding, paying and shipping process if u live in canada, how much does Disney replace as far as discs and slipcovers go?
If they have it available. If a dvd is OOP, would they still send you the inserts and all that?
I think so too..if the DVD plays well, you have the inserts, the artwork (maybe slipcover too)..then you're good to go for an OOP DVD!mainly as long as it plays fine and the cover isnt torn to pieces is my main priority. that and having the dvd companions etc. inside. what do you think?

I've heard Canadian members say that they've got replaced discs and slip-covers from Disney, so you should be able to get some help. Anyway, it'd be a good idea to buy used. You may as well go for it; buying used is most certainly a good way to obtain Out-of-print titles and if the DVDs were ripped apart in the first place, I can't see why people would go and sell in the first place.

I buy used DVD's on a regular basis from a number of local shops and sometimes the keep cases are a bit tattered but it's a simple thing to pick up replacement cases and switch them out and presto you have a nice fresh Dvd at a great price. The cover art most of the time survives rough handling so changing the case is a quick fix.

I'm a Canadian, and I've done both the disc exchange for an OOP disc (Silly Symphonies) and ordered slipcovers (Countless of them). In every instance the people have been incredibly helpful and informative. Have no fear getting previously viewed, it's a great way to get OOP DVDs
Cheers!
