Do I own too many Disney DVDs?

Post by Wonderlicious »

If you click on my DVD Afficionado link, you'll notice that around half of my DVDs are Disney ones. I've looked at a lot of other UDers' lists and have noticed that their lists contain a lot less Disney titles (okay, 25 or so is around the same as mine, but they have 100+ DVDs in their collection as opposed to almost 50) and I'm beginning to worry if I have too many Disney DVDs. I'm also really only anticipating upcoming Disney DVD releases; aside from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mins Special Edition which I've patiently been waiting for a release in England and The Wizard of Oz 2 Disc Set, the only DVDs I can't wait to get released are the platinums of Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians and The Little Mermaid, as well as the 2 Disc release of Lilo and Stitch. Am I too obsessed? :(

In a word, no. If you were obsessed you'd want every single Disney release out there at the very least. Besides, your personal movie tastes are your own. My personal Disney collection is very small because I don't exactly have a ton of money right now, and I'm only getting the Disney movies I want. I really want to get some non-Disney DVDs as well, as I spent a good portion of my DVD budget on Disney DVD's so far.

In the four months of this year, I've purchased a tonne of Disney movies, so now I'm turning my interests back to the non-Disney DVDs I've skipped over in the past months.

Don't worry about your collection. It's small right now, and contains mostly Disney, but it's still growing. Even in the end if it contains mostly Disney, who cares? You're most certainly not going to be ostricized from these boards ;)
Cheers!

I'm going to agree with the masses here.. You get what you like.. I'm only collecting the animated movies and DTV's movies.. I have no interest in live action.. Except for a few real classics like Poppins... My collection is at 47.. You can never have too much of something that you like. (Well, as long as it doesn't control your life)..

You can never have to many :) Almost half of my collection is Disney, on my list I have 171 titles and close to about 80 of them are Disney. I haven't updated my list in a few months (and I've bought many more disney, then regular movies lately). Like everyone else said, you buy what you like. :)

No, you're not obsessed at all, in fact, i think you got great taste when it comes to DVD's.

My DVD collection is growing as well, and the majority of them are Disney DVD's. Pretty soon towards the end of the year that just might grow to even more, with titles like Herbie Fully Loaded and The Pacifier coming out. (Ice Princess? ewww....no thanks, I'll pass)

You can never have too many DVD's. Yes it's an obsession but what isn't? Really. I'm obsessed with a lot of things. But anyways I only have about 20 DVD's and like 10 PS2 games, and I wan't more. I only have 2 Disney DVD's and that's Bambi PE and the Incredibles. Well, you gotta start somewhere.

You have a lot more then I have, but it's a nice collection. :) Right now, I'm only collecting animated titles from Disney which I really like (including all PE titles).

Yes, your right RJKD23 I have a tons of Disney DVD's.
I just need Mulan: GC, Cinderella: PE, Lady and the Tramp LI and The Jungle Book LI to complete my Disney Animated Collection.

RJKD23 buys them for me and then I pay her back. She's so nice...

From most of the Disney titles I have doubles or triple from the same DVD.

Well, MickeyMouseboy only needs Cinderella....
