I guess about a year and a half ago they were bought out. The deal included employment contracts for the people who had created guzzlefish. However, the company that bought it out has used those people for other projects and has only updated guzzlefish with data from Muze once in all that time.
Anyways, there really is no money to be made from guzzlefish(although I am not sure I believe that) as I would pay a few bucks annually to have my data stored.
So it looks like guzzlefish will continue to run but without updates. We have basically hit the end of what guzzlefish was updated to and many of the DVDs that are coming out now were not included in the Muze update of last October.

They were really good for accepting added CDs though except for the bizarre refusal to accept CDs that came more than four to a set.

After entering about 900 CDs and 300 DVDs/VHS I am hesitant to give up until its all over, which apparently it is.

I gave up on Guzzlefish a long long long time ago, I liked then cause you could catalogue your CD's as well as you mentions. I personally have always gone with DVDAF, it's easy to update your list and it has a layout that's easy on the eyes.
That said, I don't mind the American flag either.

Have you tried feelingclose.com? You can enter both VHS and DVDs. You can also list CDs and books.Mr. Toad wrote:Well looks like guzzlefish may be down for the count. Damn, should have printed by CD list off but at least I had the dvd one to enter onto dvdspot

Take it from me, with over 1600 DVD's I would only use DVD Spot. They are FREE, and there is NO download needed. They are up to date, and I have never found them to not be up to date with the latest releases.
I never liked Guzzlefish, and Affeciando is pretty lame. If you haven't checked out DVD Spot, you should do so. We need to have more members sign up on this site.
If you want to see what it looks like, click on My DVD Collection. Ignore my ugly mug, but enjoy.

I just started using DVD Aficionado some time last month and I haven't had any problems with it. I had found out about that site by people signatures on this forum. It is very easy to use and has everything that I need.

Or as in my case, you build really efficient shelving around the Home Theater. I have all of my DVD's in alphabetical order by title with A, An or The, not counted - i.e., A Bridge Too Far is listed under B as in Bridge Too Far - it is a really such an easy system even a blonde can figure it out..........please no comments from the blondes out there, it is not to be slanderous or catty, it is just one of those remarks that guys make, okay.........My Music DVD's, concerts, and Documentaries are listed alphabetically also in a separate area. I used to separate my Disney from everything else, but that became to much for me, because the movies Disney people call Disney movies (like Nightmare Before Christmas for instance) I con't consider Disney. If it doesn't say Walt Disney presents over the title then it isn't a Disney flick.
But to answer the question, all of my DVD's are on shelves in alphabetical order by title. I use DVD Spot for my DVD list and when someone borrows a movie I enter it there until it is returned. I Love my movies and really like my Home Theater.

Can you explain a little bit more to what you did. In other words did you do a mass import or one by one?Evil Genie Jafar wrote:How do you use dvdspot?
I spent all night yesterday adding my DVDs to my collection and none got recorded.
