Chip 'N' Dale TV Special

Post by Prince Adam »

Last night on the Wonderful World of Disney (on Canada's CBC network) they aired an old Chip 'n' Dale TV special. It didn't give the name, but it was about Chip and Dale doing a broadcast thing, and using a book to show a few of their cartoons (including Chip 'N' Dale on Donald's Farm, and my personal favourite, Two Chips and a Miss). The credits showed Sleeping Beauty Castle, and played a medley of When You Wish Upon a Star, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, and Zip-a-Di-Dooh-Dah.

Anyone know what the title of this special is and when it aired?

I wonder if they'll ever release SNL in season sets.... wouldn't that be awsome?

SNL = Saturday Night Live, Prince Adam. It's a late-night variety show that airs live on Saturday nights from New York. It's been on NBC for close to 30 years now, and that's what is being talked about.

In that skit Swayze and Farley were comperting against each other for one spot on the Chippendale's...a group of male strippers. Kevin Neelan played the head judge and he kept saying how the competition between them was so close it was an agonizing decision. Farley's horrendous dancing and obvious physical shortcomings made it all-the-more funny.

Shocking: :o I didn't even know that Chip and Dale were Disney. FOr some odd known reason, I thought they were Looney Toons

Correct, I own the clamshell also and it was released in 1981, I believe as a domestic title. It includes the shorts, "Two Chips & A Miss", "Chicken In The Rough", "Chips Ahoy" and "The Lone Chipmunks".

well the title is The Adventures of Chip 'n Dale and it was first released on feb 27 1959. in 1978 it was renamed Mixed Nuts and in the 1980s it was called the Misadventures of Chip 'n Dale. besides what does SNL have to do with Chip 'n Dale? i mean someone asked a question and then everyone starts talking about Chris Farley.

somehow i remeber that phrase " I gotta have more cowbell" and that was funny. i also like Eddie Murphy skits like Buckwheat and Mr. Robinson
