It doesn't ADD a new scene, it replaces the original pouncing scene, does it not?

Adam-right, it replaces the pouncing scene. Kuzco: we're complaining about the fact that 1) The song sucks and 2) Disney's spending more money on that and ads than they are on meaty bonus material. You mean to tell me you'd rather have a crapola scene in the movie replace an existing one instead of having in-depth behind the scenes documentaries?

We know exactly whats on the disc, and sadly how short each segment is: check out THIS THREAD on the UK disc. (All times are stated)

Well that's assuming the US disc will be exactly like the UK, which probably is safe bet, I guess. Not like we'll get an extra hour documentary or anything. Ho-hum- :(

The segments listed are likely the same. There may be a few additional segments on the US disc, but I would guess just as fragmented at those certified :x

1. It's "are you" :P

2. Special feature CRAP is correct-Like 2099 and Luke said, each featurette or clip on the DVD is most of the time 5 minutes long or less.

3. Based on your link, do you honestly consider stuff like Timon and Pumbaa's Virtual Safari or the Disney Channel All Stars Music Video to be an in-depth look at the making of The Lion King?

Timon and Pumbaa's Virtual Safari isn't even an in-depth look at the safari. Forget IN-DEPTH...the animals are VIRTUAL! :? In a lot of instances, DVDs have seemed to devolve into marketing tools - flashy, promotional content, and not the kind of in-depth documentary like "The Story Behind Toy Story" or the excellent 90-minute "Tron" documentary.

Very true. I wish the platinum titles followed the likes of the Alfred Hitchcock collection from Universal. Practically every title has an hour long documentary, some even close to an hour and a half - very in depth, very informative. Plus you get storyboard, trailers, etc. on every single title.

Instead we get a packed-to-the-hilt Snow White, and several fluffy, puffy, lightweight, Diet Platinums.

I think Lion King Platinium sounds pretty good

Post by Mermaid Kelly »

The Platinium Lion King doesn't sound that bad to me! I mean...the Beauty and the Beast Platinium came out GREAT! Even if Morning Report is not that good, there is still the original version to watch. Also the bonus features seem pretty good to me. :)
