I talk to myself every day of the week, like when I go to the Grocery Store. "CMJ, did you pick up the milk ? Yep." lol just kidding, I never talk to myself.

You would be lying if you said that you don't talk to yourself, everybody does it in one point of there life or another.
Haha Friend Owl in Bambi talks to himself, that crazy bird.
Anyways what I'm trying to say is that I shouldn't feel ashamed if I do pretty much that's how I think. I wouldn't be majoring in electical engineering if I didn't think.

Brilliant people talk to themselves...

mad people answer themselves back. :P

I do "talk" to myself, but it's more like verbalizing plans for the day. Such as when I a make a list of things to do. "Let's see, what do I have to do? *taps pencil on notebook paper*"

I also do the "EUREKA!" moments and exclaim "AHA!" out loud..

but actually having a pure blown conversation? Doesn't happen.

What Loomis are you calling me crazy just because I support myself.
It's free speech to talk outloud and it's free speech to talk in your mine.
Loomis tell me do you have dreams or do you have nightmares? :P

As a few people in this thread have already stated, talking to yourself is perfectly fine - it's just when you start to answer yourself that you should start to worry. ;)

But yeah, I do it, too. It's more analogous to "thinking out loud" than it is about actually holding a conversation with yourself. :P And from the poll results, it's a lot more common than one would tend to believe!

Yup. Those seven Dwarfs talked in their mine all the time, and I have no objection to that at all!

I talk A LOT. And I'd say usually, other people don't hear me. I'm not even sure why I talk so much. Anyway since I do talk so much, naturally I'm the only one who hears it. Usually when I talk to myself, I end up saying the same things all the time- "I'm SO tired!", "I wanna go to bed", "Ow!", "He's so hott!", "I'm starving". But I'm a writer and an actor, so when I'm watching TV or a movie, or at the computer about to write- I will say some of what I plan to write to see how it sounds. I speak some of my plans for the day. And when I'm watching TV, and I see a guy I think is hott- I always end up saying it and often don't realize I just said it aloud. Also, I will speak some of the things the characters on the movie/show I'm watching said because I like to hear how it sounds when I try to say it, I experiment with different ways of saying the same things. Everything I say that isn't an expression of a need- sleep, eat, shelter ("I'm freezing!", "It's hotter than hell in here")- is me practicing speech for later occasions. I'm sure to a lot of people I seem crazy, but most people tell me I'm a genius.
