Going to Disneyland anytime soon?

im a constant visitor at the park and recent rumors find the space mountain opening significantly sooner than november. it may open in may or maybe in the summer but sooner than november. of course i wouldnt hold my breath but the ride is at the testing phase right now and it would be unlikely that it would take a month shy of a year to finish the ride after the testing phase.

either way, it will be a great period for the park when astro orbiters, space mountain, and the tiki room are open and i'll be there for it

I am very sad to learn that Splash Mountain will be closed in Febuary

. It's one of my favs. Oh well, can't have them all when you choose to go in the off season. Last time it was The Matterhorn. Looks like that will be the only mountain open to ride this go around. Does anyone know if Thunder Mountain Railroad is open? I read about all the problems going on with it, rumors were it was closed for good. Is this true

I believe Thunder Mountain Railroad is open but I'm not 100% sure.

Dana - you can also try www.miceage.com which is run by former Mouseplaneters. Usually covers the same information, but sometimes can have different stuff. Looks like we cant hook up, you are at the World while I am on my Disney cruise.

For those of you who have been there, is the Wine Country Trattoria restaurant at Disney's California Adventure worth going to?

I like a nicer meal every now and then, but I want to hear some feedback about the place before I commit myself to spending extra time eating instead of riding.

EDIT: Actually, I would be glad to hear any dining recommendations for either California Disney park.

Brandon, I loved the Blue Bayou when we dined there. The food was delicious and you just can't beat that atmosphere

We went to Ariel's Grotto when I was at Disneyland (AG is in California Adventure) last year. it was pretty neat.

And we did this one restaurant in N.O. Square at DL... I can't remembere which one, but the red beans and rice was excellent.

It is, you would probably enjoy it. Good enough food, pleasant atmosphere, good/fast service. Although for Fine Dining, you should consider The Vinyard Room which is on the second floor of the Golden Vine Winery (on top of Wine Country Trattoria).

Ariel's Grotto is good to, not so much for the food but it's nice to eat by the water and see Paradise Pier at night.

Ooh, that sounds nice actually. I might check it out when I go (definitely September now). Quick question to anyone: is California Adventure part of the Disneyland park, or is it an entirely separate place/ticket price?

Quick Answer: it is an entirely separate place/ticket price?

(But they have the "2for" or "2ffer" deal going on...2-for-1...buy a Disneyland ticket, you'd be able to go into the Calif. Adventure free!)

At least when my sister went, they had that. And she went in the beginning of this month.

Disney's California Adventure is one of two theme parks in the Disneyland Resort, the other being Disneyland. They do require separate admission, but you can purchase hopper passes that allow you to cross over from one to the other at will.

Oh, if you go to any of the official Disneyland websites in your country, most of them will send out an official "Disneyland DVD" to plan your trip. It goes through all the sights and sounds as far as I know. I have the old CD-Rom equivalent from a few years back, but Disney have gone hi-tech and are doing it on DVD now.
