Great Fan-generated site for Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow!

Post by Mouseketodd »

I found a great site on Dr. Syn here:

http://users.msworldnet.com/tomhering/

The site includes a history of the character, various photos, episode summaries, cast & crew info, news and links.

If you're a fan of this television series and/or motion picture, this site for you. Wouldn't it be nice if more Disney features were given this much devotion and detail!

(I also mention this site in another topic: "Future Disney Treasures" since Dr. Syn just may get a Treasure treatment!

Well as this was only 3 episodes I doubt it would get a treasures release. It was supposed to be released last year on DVD but its release was pulled, along with The Shaggy Dog and Shaggy DA.

Fit for Treasure treatment?

Post by Mouseketodd »

Did you visit the "news and links" page of that fan site? It mentions an informant as the bearer of news of Disney's Treasure intention. True, there can be disinformation. We'll just have to wait and see.

Disney's own treatment of this story thru television/threatrical productions (USA, England) and re-releases resembles the plans of, and reactions to, its Davy Crockett product.

And, if this series/movie versions and supporting extras can not fill a Treasure, this hopefully show it can sit right next to The Swamp Fox in Wave 5's corresponding title that reads "Legendary Heroes" ... the title of which is in plural form.
