Hidden Extras

Post by Rob S »

Hi, My daughter was playing a bonus feature (a trivia game) on The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad dvd and at the end of the game was rewarded with a cartoon from 1952 "Susie the Little Blue Coupe". It is not listed on the dvd case. Are there other cartoons hidden or not listed on other dvds that I should be aware of? Thanks in advance for your input. :)

Hi Rob, welcome to the forums.

The Santa Clause Special Edition has a Christmas-themed cartoon short after defeating the game. The game takes a while to beat, though.

Welcome Rob!

I found that DVDReview.com has a bunch of 'easter eggs' listed.
http://www.dvdreview.com/html/hidden_features.shtml

Here are a few samples of the more interesting ones (i.e. are more than just DVD production credits)...

Dinosaur - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/247.html

Monsters Inc - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/416.html

Mickey Mouse in Living Color - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/342.html

MM in B & W - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/444.html

Tigger Movie - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/216.html

Toy Story 2 - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/245.html

Toy Story: The Ultimate Toy Box - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/237.html

Treasure Planet - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/481.html

Davy Crockett - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/343.html

Who Framed Roger Rabbit - http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/470.html

Ok, there were other ones there, but these - as I said - were some fo the more interesting ones.

Luke, maybe we could start a Disney 'Easter Egg' page on the site?
Is there one already and I'm just blind? It wouldn't surprise me :P

Anyways, hope this helps!

No, there isn't one, because there seems to be like a million resources on Easter Eggs. It'd be easy to put together a page, though, I suppose just for Disney ones.

Does anyone know if there will be a similar easter egg on the upcoming Santa Clause 2 DVD? Perhaps "Santa's Workshop" (1932 Silly Symphony)?

And if you don't feel like playing that stupid game, you can go directly to Title 5 using your DVD-player's remote control. How to do that varies between different DVD-players, so you may have to take a look in the manual. Also, some players will only let you go to Title 5 after stopping the disc, some require you to start the movie first.

The region 2 Special Edition of Pinocchio has the cartoon "Cat Nap Pluto" hidden behind a stupid game. Unfortunately, I haven't found any way to bypass the game on that disc.
