What the heck is wrong with the toys from Toy Story??????

Post by Fullhousegurl »

Why don't the toys TELL Andy that they're alive? I mean, don't ty trust him enough? If my Jessie doll (was nice) and told me she was alive i'd be like, "cool.". can totally imagine the toy telling Andy and him bing OK with it. Who agrees?

My vote was a no. I just think that if the toys were to come to life in front of humans it would ruin the storyline. Thats what makes the Toy Story movies so cool is that they have all these adventures and at the end of the day no one knows. :) But thats just me.

Nah, I always like those stories about a whole secret world that humans couldn't possibly understand or care about.

It is what has made ALL of Pixar's films (including The Incredibles with the secret super hero community) work incredibly well.

Got to agree with the Loominator. Besides, haven't we seen enough movies where a kid knows something but has to keep it secret or he'll tell people and no one believes him? I believe Joe Dante's had more than one movie about that.

It's more clever knowing that the reason toys are never where you leave them is because they're alive!

If the toys tell Andy, what would the rest of the stories be?

Yes, I think it would be cool. No, I don't think it should happen.

I say no as well but if you want something more along those lines check out 'Indian in the Cupboard'. :) It's a great movie based on even greater books. (like it even if I gave mine away. :p)

I say "no" for two reasons:

- that'd be no fun!
- it killed the whole "essence" of the movie.

I think the whole point of the toys being alive was that it's something we all think might be true, yet we never really know. Remember when Andy lost one of his toys (forgot which one)? Haven't you ever had that same feeling you put your toy somewhere yet it was gone when you returned? And you're sure it moved by itself, but you knew it can't really. Well, the whole point of them being alive is sort of about that, they're whole "life" is, in a way, Andy's imagination.

I know I probably sound confusing, but I hope you understand me more or less... :P

Maybe something like "The toys have adventures WITH Andy!". Remeber how in Toy Story Buzz had to rescued from *shudders* Sid? Then in Toy Story 2 Woody had to be rescued. Maybe in Toy Story 3 or Toy Story 4 Andy gets kidnapped by those kidnappers you hear about on the news! Oooo ooooo ooo! Maybe THEN when the toys rescue Andy THEN they tell him (well he has to know at that point!)

If the toys would have told ANdy, that they were a live, it would have ruined the whole movie. I like the movie just the way it is.

I'd have to agree with the general masses.. Toy Story has that special "What if" quality tht would have been forsaken if Andy knew of his toys being alive.

I also agree, it leaves the imagination open to the idea that hey.. maybe they are alive in real life.. and knowing if they ever presented themselves as real living things.. Man would exploit the crap out of it!

If your up to Toys / Humans co-existing.. Small Soldiers is the movie to watch..

If that would happen it would only be good if it was at the end of the movie. Like if to save the day they had to let him know, you know? And also that would have to be the last movie. I don't think they could really do anything with it after that.
