The Incredibles missing extras

Post by FrankV »

The Dutch Incredibles-DVD is missing two extras: Vowellet - An Essay By Sarah Vowell and Character Interviews. According to http://www.dvdcompare.net the UK-DVD is also missing the Vowellet-extra, but has the Character Interviews.

Thank you Disney!

But we're missing Brad Bird rolling his eyes at the mention of "Fullscreen"! So, it's a tradeoff. ;)

Well, all non-american DVDs except the Canadian ones.

Personally, though, I didn't much care for the character interviews. Was it really necsssary to have them done by complete idiots from shows like Entertainment Tonight and so forth? God, I hate those shows. They might do half-decent work for actual interviews (though I don't much care for those, either), but these character things weren't real interviews. They needed someone who could convincingly act alongside the animated character that was being interviewed. The way they were actually done just seemed to contrived and false.

As a comparison, the character interviews on the DVD of the Powerpuff Girls Movie (voiced by the same guy who voices the narrator of the series) were much more fun and engaging. And they seemed alot more natural, for the most part.

Don't worry, the Vowellet thing sucks and the Character Interviews are just okay.

The R2 release does indeed have a longer introduction (1:47) on disk one.

Here's the complete audio of it with four screenshots:

http://www.mv.helsinki.fi/home/mlang/r2-incr/

Both Bird and Walker appear there and they discuss the disadvantages of pan&scan process. (The screenshots are anamorphic. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the eye-roll though.)
