Top ways to support the site
Top ways to support the site
Since I've gotten a few e-mails from people asking in what ways they could most support the site.
These would be the most effective that I can think of:
4) Disney Movie Club - Naturally, this isn't something that everyone will go for. But if you do decide to join, signing up through the site helps a lot.
3) Art.com - They have a bunch of Disney artwork, and while it's not specifically DVDs, I do recommend checking them out maybe. Or if you plan on buying something from them anyway, you know.
2) Non-Media purchases at Amazon - these help because there's a quota to reach new tiers. The great majority of purchases through the site are media products (besides DVDs, this includes VHS, CDs, books). Stuff like Toys, Electronics, Apparel, Kitchen, etc. count as non-media and very well could be the difference between every purchase netting something like 5% versus 5.5%, in addition to whatever the referral fee on that is. Again, it's something that probably won't have wide appeal, but I guess that's why Amazon has them in place to encourage sales apart from the oridnary media products, which probably earn them less. Of course, all the DVD purchases through Amazon help out a lot, too.
and number 1) (which also happens to be the easiest way to help out) the Google ads below. I know a lot of us have programmed ourselves to ignore banner ads, because we're generally bombarded by them. Which is why I put them low, unobtrusively, and which is why you won't find pop-ups, pop-overs, pop-unders, or anything else that may pay well but is just incredibly annoying beyond belief.
Still, if everyone clicked the ads that were of interest to them, it would prove incredibly helpful.
I know you've heard some or most of this before, and I apologize for bringing it up again, but our site is growing every day, and I anticipate rises in bandwidth and other costs. At least the new webhost seems to have gotten everything in order.
Thanks for listening, and as always, I'm open to suggestions/feedback, whether by e-mail or on the Feedback forum.

It'd actually be a lot better if you bought like 8 or 9 toothbrushes. You'll save on shipping, too.Loomis wrote:You forgot 'bake-off'.

Might I recommend the Ultrasonex Binford 6100 Rechargeable Toothbrush with Replacement Brushes:

Strangely enough, I found myself in a department store this afternoon and the receiving end of a 10 minute pitch on the wonders of the Braun toothbrushes...
How do I get into these things?

Sadly us non-US residents cannot buy non-media items from Amazon (they won't ship abroad), nor can we buy from Best Buy, nor can we join the Disney Movie Club, nor can we click on adverts from Google.
Just kidding about that last one.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
Wow, Amazon only ships media products worldwide? I had no idea. That kind of sucks.2099net wrote:Sadly us non-US residents cannot buy non-media items from Amazon (they won't ship abroad), nor can we buy from Best Buy, nor can we join the Disney Movie Club, nor can we click on adverts from Google.

I've already had a neighborhood car wash, where everyone who got their cars washed by me, recieved something I called "Disney Adventure Card: Your Passport to Magical Adventure". I told them to take it home and type in the code on the back of the card onto the internet and explore the many "immersive, experiental wonders". The code was www.ultimatedisney.com

I liked that joke, but then I'd be one from the limited appeal.Loomis wrote:You forgot 'bake-off'.
