What I find interesting is that Incredibles is rated G in Canada, and A Bug's Life is rated PG in Canada...

I have been looking all over, but I still haven't seen the Pizza Planet truck anywhere in the movie...has anyone else seen this?

In Incredibles or A Bugs life?

I saw it in one of them but I think it was at the end of Monsters Inc. (You can't see it on the fullscreen version) NOT Incredibles.

PixarFan's got to be talking about The Incredibles. The truck is pretty prominent in A Bug's Life.

I havent gotten the dvd for myself yet

(i'm gonna get the PAL version, but Amazing Babe has the NTSC one

) but I agree with dvdjunkie i'm sure that for many people the DVD looks as good or even better than many theatrical presentations, with it's DDD transfer specially on a great system. (at least much better than the showing i saw which was so out of focus and the Scope lens so out of alignment it looked blurrier and fuzzier than the screncaps from a dvd screener a nice UD member sent me then

and that made me rennounce to going to theaters again) (unless of course Amazing Babe comes with me or some Evil Genie casts a spell or sumthin'

) *sigh even tho dvdjunkie hates me

i would love to be invited to his house and watch The Incredibles DVD with him on his super 18 foot screen

(Is that diagonal or wide? No matter, that's my kind of screen!

) Must look, well, Incredible!

Ahh to imagine what the Blu-ray would look like there...

btw tho the Phatom Menace was digitally rendered, the live action photography was still shot on film so it has some hybridness on it. For Attack everything indeed was all digital. How does that look on the 18 footer?

The Incredibles is an awesome film, and the DVD is just as cool.

Part of what makes it so enjoyable are all the references to other films, such as the Goldfinger ejector seat and the IG-99 plane (IG-88 was a bounty hunter droid in The Empire Strikes Back).

The Easter Eggs on both discs are excellent, and they are worth waiting the 30 seconds for.

By the way, is that stuffed bird from For The Birds available to consumers, or is it an internal Pixar creation?

The Incredibles gets a solid A+.

Just bought the UK version of The Incredibles. It doesn't have either 'Vowellet - An Essay By Sarah Vowell' or the character interviews. Anyone else notice this?

I wondered the same thing after seeing it in one of those easter eggs. Though I don't usually care for stuffed animals, I do hope you can buy this one. That short was great, and those birds are hilarious.

I loved the 2.39:1 transfer and DD-5.1 EX audio, both were clean, crisp, and quite awesome to experience. (I also like the fact that Disney went the extra mile and produced English, French, and Spanish subtitles for the commentaries, introductions, and all the extras.)

Every extra was worth perusing. My particular favorites are "More Making-of The Incredibles" and "Incredi-Blunders". (And I'm keeping the holographic slipcover on it, because it adds visual appeal to the package.)

In fact, the only quibble were the side snaps on the keep case, but those were rectified when I cut them off with scissors. (I hate those things.)

Thought yuo guys might be interested in this little review I wrote for my film class. We had to pick a movie that came out in the last 6 months...guess what I picked?

Film Review -The Incredibles
Release Date: Nov. 5th, 2004

Do you ever wonder if your family is the only one that has its problems? The Incredibles shows us that even superheroes have family problems. The Incredibles is about a “regular” family, with its own deep, dark secret: They’re all superheroes!

The patriarch of the family is middle-aged Bob Parr (alias: Mr. Incredible), who, due to legal problems is in the Superhero Relocation Program. He and his wife, Helen Parr (alias: Elastigirl) are trying to raise their family, comprised of oldest daughter Violet, middle son Dashiell (Dash), and young Jack-Jack.

Being that this is a movie about superheroes, there is obviously some level of world saving, superhero goodness herein. However, that is not all that this movie is about. This movie has a lot to do with becoming and working together as collective family unit. For example, near the beginning, the Parrs are at dinner, and Violet tells her mother that she is not hungry. This induces a smart alecky, little brother comment from Dash. Then, they start fighting. Dash starts running around at super speed, and Violet throws up a force field. This causes Helen to intervene, using her elastic like body to separate the two kids. She then yells at Bob to intervene, and he uses his super strength to lift up the table with all three family members in tow. Sounds like a normal family dinner at your house, right (minus the super powers, of course)?

The characters in this movie are well-defined and easy to relate to. Bob is the father, who wishes he was young and is still basking in former glory. Oh, yeah, he has super strength, too. Helen is the mom who has so many roles to fill and has to be really flexible, hence her power of elasticity. Dash is your typical 10 year old, full of energy, mischief, and showboating as well as fiercely competitive. He is so competitive, in fact that he is not allowed to go out for sports for fear that he might use his power (super speed) and expose his family to be super. Violet is a shy middle schooler (Writer’s opinion: She is in about the 9th grade), a loner type who is invisible to the popular kids, and that’s one of her powers (invisibility) coupled with the power to produce force fields.

Did I forget to mention that this is an animated film? I must have forgotten myself! The Incredibles is a fully computer animated film. The locales and details in the movie are so lush and extensive that you can forget (as I have many times) that you are actually watching an animated film as opposed to a live action one.

The main theme of the movie is that the group is stronger than just the individual. Every member of the family has to use their particular power in order to reach their ultimate goal, and by the end, they have learned to love, trust, and respect one another.

The main problem with this movie is the plot. It’s nothing really new or innovative, as this is the same basic plot that every superhero movie has. After you’re introduced to the main villain, they want to take over the world. So, it’s the supers’ job to stop that from happening. Villain puts up obstacles, superhero (es) overcome obstacles, villain loses in the end. It’s not a BAD plot; it’s just…old and tired and probably should be euthanized.

This movie is a film by Pixar, which have also made Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo. All of these films are superb, and if you haven’t seen them, I recommend that you do so.

All in all, The Incredibles is an (pardon the pun) incredible film. I hope you decide to go see this movie. It could possibly be the best animated film made since The Lion King. Don’t miss out on the most fun you’ll have all year!

You should've bought the Canadian release; our cases didn't have the side snap things, oddly.

In his or her closing thoughts, the UltimateDisney.com reviewer says,

Not only should you get this DVD as soon as you can, but you should introduce the film to anyone you know who's not already crazy about it. You'd be doing a great service, as films (and DVDs) this good are a rarity.

I finally finshed watching all of the Incredibles about a week aog completley and I thought the extra features were abundant but I am not sure if it was exactley what I was expecting. My favorite of all the features was defintley Jack Jack atack gosh thats was halirous imagine that being in the movie.It was awsome

Good stuff.

I can't recommend any animated ones, since this feature is unique to the medium (maybe you'll like The Iron Giant, since Brad Bird directed both)... You'd probably enjoy classic bond movies and superhero movies (X - Men, Spiderman). A lot of references from those movies are found in The Incredibles and the storyline is very comic-like!

I would recomend it, it's a good movie. But you should rent it first before you buy it because you may have a different opinion.

I would but it's quite expensive to rent up here. For new releases or nearly new releases like The Incredibles, it's almost $6 to rent and only for 2 days.
