Well, sorry that I was so skeptical Trojan Mouse. You can tell your friend that he did a great job on the first 6 double disc DVDs and that we don't blame him for what Disney is doing!
Can anyone tell me what Return from Witch Mountain is about? I've seen the first one, but I haven't seen the second. I didn't realize Christopher Lee was in it.

DVD File has just posted this "new" information (gee, how do they get it sooooo fast?).
We knew most of this, just thought I'd post it here, being in a trainspotting mood...
Ok nothing against DVDFile. I visit them daily, great stuff...Also announced from Buena Vista are the full specs for three delightful family classics. On September 2nd, watch for The Apple Dumpling Gang which will include an audio commentary with stars Tim Conway, Don Knotts, Susan Clark and Brad Savage, the "A Look Back with the Gang," "Conversations with Tim Conway," "Lost Treasures: The Disney Back Lot" and "Disney's Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy Heroes" featurettes, the "Two Gun Goofy" animated short, multiple still galleries, the complete original 1975 studio album and theatrical trailers. Next is the spooky favorite Escape to Witch Mountain, which is set to feature an audio commentary with director John Hough and stars Ike Eisenmann and Kim Richards, the "Making the Escape," "Conversations with John Hough," "Disney Effects - Something Special" and "Disney Sci-Fi" featurettes, the "Pluto's Dream House" animated short and theatrical trailers. The sequel Return From Witch Mountain also includes a commentary with Hough, Eisenmann and Richards, plus the "Making the Return Trip," "The Gang's Back in Town," "Disney's Kids with Powers" and "Lost Treasures: Christopher Lee - The Lost Interview" featurettes, "The Eyes Have It" animated short and theatrical trailers. Both the Witch Mountain flicks also include their complete original studio album, and all three have been remastered in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 5.1. Retail is $24.95 a pop.

As far as we can tell, they will be one disc sets.Captain Hook wrote:Do we still not know about if it's one or two?
However, this doesn't seem to be a problem as the extras look pretty good for films of this vintage...

Just on a related note (and I think I've posted as much in the international forum), these films (at least the Witch Mountain ones) have been submitted and approved by the Australian ratings board, (the the OFLC.
Perhaps Disney is giving them a worldwide push? I wonder if the supplements will be different?
Wish they do this with more 'wanted' films...

Just checking out MousePlanet.com & in their fall dvd previews they list both Witch Mountain & Apple Dumpling as 2 disc SEs. In a little over a week we'll know for sure. From everything I've read here & the price of $24.95 I believe they'll be single disc but I'm hoping that they surprise us.

I hope they are 2 Disc! I'm more likely to shell out the money for 2 discs rather than one.
Remember, the Love Bug is a 2 disc set and it was only 14.44 at Walmart so this may be a promising sign (old movies for cheaper)

I thought we established that they'd be 1 disc some time ago when our newsbreaking Trojan Mouse told us not only that they'd be one disc but how it was known. Any place that has it listed as 2 must just be going from speculation, like our first reaction. Odd that these will be 1 disc, but yet from what we hear, next year is going to be filled with 2-disc SEs, both animated and live-action.

Still, as far as one-disc sets go, they are pretty packed.Inga Tu Schmista wrote:It gives me great pain to have to do this to you, Captain Hook sir, but they are really, truly one-disc sets.
Look forward to getting them (one day...).
