Pixar Box Set

I was browsing through Play.com when I noticed they have a Disney Pixar Boxset which was just released on Friday 18th March. It includes The Incredibles, Monsters Inc, A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo. Judging by the packaging it looks like four individual cases within the sleeve > http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=ti ... tle=572650 Has anyone bought this and can they confirm that they are in seperate cases? Looks like a nice little collection. I haven't seen three out of the four movies so I'm quite interested in buying them. I would imagine there are no bonus features included but that doesn't particularly bother me

Yes It is 4 individual standard amaray cases, inside a larger box. Also it is 6 discs so two of those movies are 2-discers alhtough I don't know which, although I would guess The Incredibles and Finding Nemo.

Monster's Inc had a 2 disc set as well.

Yes, but Monsters Inc also had a 1 disc which TI and FN didn't so that is why I made that assumption.

True, but would it surprise you much if it was revershed, the ones that didn't have a single disc release did in this box set.. I'd be curious to see how many would want the one disc version along with the two..

It is the 2-disc set of The Incredibles, 2-disc set of Finding Nemo, 1-disc set of Monsters Inc, 1-disc set of A Bugs Life.

At the time of release Monsters Inc 1-disc set was not in widescreen but in 1.33 standard TV size. The 1-disc Bugs Life was a double sided thing with the widescreen version on one side and standard TV size on the flip side. But has none of the extras found on the two-disc set.

Still if it's the movies you're after, and you're not fussed about having Monsters Inc in widescreen, it's pretty good value for money.

Woolworths have an exclusive box set of the 2-disc The Incredibles with the 1-disc Buzz Lightyear movie for £19.99. These two are in standard cases in a cardboard box.

I think the boxset will be a nice addition to my so-far small Disney collection. I don't really watch the extras on DVD's if I'm honest, so this set will be fine.

wait for Cars to hit dvd and then buy a 'superduper-Pixar-mega-box-set'

If Disney and Pixar do part, I'll probaply cave into a box set like that, as a memory to the greatest collaboration between two major film studios in the history of Hollywood: Disney/Pixar

its a shame toystory 1 n 2 wernt in the box too, now that wuda bn the ultimate set.
i piked up the pixar box set, but was a bit frustrated to find that the "a bugs life" dvd was a retro style one wer u have to turn over the dvd half way fru the film

That DVD isn't a flipper, each side has two versions of the same film, one fullscreen (not recommended, as it isn't in the way the directors wanted it to be) and widescreen (much better, if picture goes stretchy on a normal TV, change the settings from 16x9 to 4x3!)

i havent actually watched it yet coz its realle peed me off, but on the back of the box it says "two sided format at the end of side a please turn over the disc" so does this mean i can watch the movie uninterupted? xx

Flippers? The person responsible for releasing DVDs which will be of interest to children should be shot. It's the way they suddenly have two shiny sides to cover with their grubby chocolate covered fingertips. Have had to hide the Tom & Jerry collections from the nephews and nieces for their own flipping protection. (Sometimes I swear I'm turning into Donald Duck)
