I'm ready for ya...PSP! (Kinda)...
After much trial and error, I have successfully converted Lady and the Tramp to an MP4 File! Yay!!!
Now all I need is my PSP and a 256 MB Memory Stick. Sadly, I've only the money for the system this week.
Guess my plan to watch Lady and the Tramp during lunch from work will have to wait til next week.
Thanks to all that offered to help with my Avatar...Starion, RJKD23 and cj!

THE PSP WILL ROCK ANY OTHER PORTABLE SYSTEM!!! Even the DS, the 3-inch screen looks hot and I can't wait to watch TLK in it!! The games are some of the best and you can store your music too.melliekins wrote:booo to the psp....waste of money!! the movies they're going to sell for it are 2X the price of a dvd....and why pay that for a 3 inch screen!!
The PSP costs $249.99
As a college student, I'll have to say...there are other ways to waste $249.99 + tax.
[say..Spring break in Mexico?
]
So, I'm going to put this on hold for the both of us ("R" and "K")
It's a nice gadget..but for now, the DS will do for us.
Plus, I also like the touch screen!

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to pay $250 to be able to hear music and watch movies special to the format (which will cost another $30 each) when I can already do that on a portable CD or DVD player. Since I like the gameplay better plus the fact that it's $100 cheaper and PSP offers crap, I vote for DS.
Cheers,
JM

The PSP is pretty much a portable PS2. The DS is a portable N64. You have to pay for the muscle. Personally, I definitely would rather have a PSP. I don't care if you can watch movies on it. I want to play Metal Gear Acid, Grand Theft Auto, and eventually Gran Turismo on the PSP. The system isn't geared towards children, and the price of the system will come down by the end of the year. Especially since Nintendo is working to get the new Game Boy Advance released by then.
(Got to love Nintendo and they're annual handheld system releases. The Game Boy Color was released even though they were already working on the original GBA. How many games were released for the Game Boy Color?!? Not very many.)

yes...that is correct...the PSP target is 18 to 34 year old males....
and since i'm female I guess I'm not in that category....wow..excluded again from the gaming world....why is it I'm the "game expert" at work???
it's too pricey for what it is...at least the DS has some uniqueness...woohoo to the touch screen..the PSP features will just cost more money...
And I'm not really on board with the Nintendo vs microsoft vs sony thing....I do have my opinions of all 3...and I actually lean toward the PS2...the controller is the main reason
why not play the same games on ur PS2...or the PS3 when it comes out??
and just throw it in....it still took the other game companies this long to catch up to the Sega Game gear....sure it's heavy and eats batteries by today's standards but it was still WAY ahead of it's time.
blah....I'm done...this is pointless people will buy 'em cause they're "cool" and parents will buy them for their 7 year olds without knowing anything about it or the games...just cause they asked for it...

What do you use to convert movies to an mp4? I'm getting a PSP this week too.yanya wrote:After much trial and error, I have successfully converted Lady and the Tramp to an MP4 File! Yay!!!Now all I need is my PSP and a 256 MB Memory Stick. Sadly, I've only the money for the system this week.

Did I say anything about male and female?melliekins wrote:yes...that is correct...the PSP target is 18 to 34 year old males....

Yes, it breaks the $200 "amount parents will pay for a toy" barrier, but again it's not geared towards children.it's too pricey for what it is...at least the DS has some uniqueness...woohoo to the touch screen..the PSP features will just cost more money...
Neither am I. Software is what counts. Right now I can think of 2 games I'd want to play on the DS. I can think of about 5 that I'll want to play on the PSP.And I'm not really on board with the Nintendo vs microsoft vs sony thing....I do have my opinions of all 3...and I actually lean toward the PS2...the controller is the main reason
Um... because the games will be exclusive to the PSP. I think that's a pretty good reason.why not play the same games on ur PS2...or the PS3 when it comes out??
The Atari Lynx and TurboXpress were way ahead of the Game Gear technologically. They didn't last that long either, due to lack of good software.and just throw it in....it still took the other game companies this long to catch up to the Sega Game gear....sure it's heavy and eats batteries by today's standards but it was still WAY ahead of it's time.
I'm sure a lot of parents will be buying a $250 piece of hardware so that they're seven year old can take it to school and forget where they placed it.blah....I'm done...this is pointless people will buy 'em cause they're "cool" and parents will buy them for their 7 year olds without knowing anything about it or the games...just cause they asked for it...

Who's buying the PSP??
Join us for Spring Break in san diego..where the weather's warm and springy!
We'll show you that the $249.99 (or whatever price you pay) can be spent elsewhere [maybe better too!

I'm not going to buy PSP but I have entered this neat contest so I could win it....
http://www.msgplus.net/contest.php
Chances are I will not win since the only cool contests I ever won was riding in a monster truck and winning an orange juice juicer when I was about ten.
